We are currently recruiting:

• First Responders (FREC3 & FREC4)
• Student Healthcare Professionals
• Emergency Care Assistants (ECAs)
• Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
• Nurses
• Paramedics

🎓 Trainee First Responder Opportunity

Looking to start a career in emergency care but don’t currently have a qualification or experience?

We are also offering Trainee First Responder positions, where we will put successful applicants through their FREC3 course.

• FREC 3 course costs will be recovered from wages
• No previous qualification or experience required for the trainee pathway
• Trainees will not be deployed until FREC 3 has been successfully completed
• All usual compliance and pre-employment checks must be passed

📋 Essential Requirements

• Must be aged 21 or over
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Must have been driving for 2+ years
• Valid and In-Date qualification to your role
• Must successfully pass all required compliance checks

⭐ Desirable

• C1 driving licence
• CERAD qualification

A fantastic day at Barnes Park for the Salus Medical team!

While providing event medical cover, our staff have been enjoying the opportunity to engage with the local community, meeting attendees and helping ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day.

We're pleased to see the expansion of Methoxyflurane (Penthrox®), allowing its use for children from the age of 6 years for appropriate trauma-related pain management. This is another positive step forward in ensuring patients can receive fast, effective pain relief when they need it most.

At Salus Medical, this isn't new to us. Our Enhanced Responders, Emergency Care Assistants, Emergency Care Technicians, Advanced Technicians, Nurses and Paramedics have been trained in the safe administration of Methoxyflurane for a number of years and have carried it as part of our enhanced clinical capability.

As a CQC-registered ambulance provider, we're committed to equipping our clinicians with advanced skills, medicines and equipment to deliver high-quality pre-hospital care beyond traditional first aid. The ability to provide effective pain relief early can make a significant difference to a patient's experience and outcome.

We're proud to continue investing in our people, our clinical governance, and the care we provide—ensuring patients receive safe, evidence-based treatment whenever and wherever it's needed.

Over the last three days, we’ve had 27 members of staff deployed across the North East and Yorkshire, supporting a wide range of fantastic events and communities. From festivals and sporting events to university activities and community initiatives, our team has been hard at work ensuring everyone stays safe and supported.

A great day supporting operations at Salford Quays today alongside British Cycling 🚴‍♂️🚑

A huge thank you to Sentinel Ambulance Service for their assistance with a medical incident at a separate event running adjacent to ours. The teamwork and professionalism shown ensured the patient received prompt care and support. We wish them a full and speedy recovery.

We’d also like to thank North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust for their rapid response and seamless continuation of care through to hospital. Partnerships and cooperation between providers are vital in delivering the best possible outcomes for patients.

Another busy weekend ahead for the team at Salus Medical 🚑

This weekend we are supporting events across the country, with operational teams covering both the North East and Manchester areas — providing professional, responsive and CQC-registered medical cover for organisers and attendees alike.

From community events and sporting fixtures through to large-scale public gatherings, our crews continue to deliver high-quality care wherever it’s needed.

Alongside our event operations, our Darlington Borough Council Street Friends Responder led Ambulance will also be deployed between 2200hrs and 0300hrs, supporting vulnerable members of the community and assisting where needed throughout the night-time economy.

A huge thank you to all of our dedicated staff working throughout the weekend to help keep people safe.
