📊 Tissue Healing: How Long Does Recovery Take?

Ever wondered why some injuries seem to recover quickly, while others take months?

The truth is, **there's no single timeline for recovery.** Different tissues heal at different rates, and the severity and nature of an injury can significantly affect how long it takes.

From muscles and tendons to ligaments, fractures and cartilage, understanding the healing process can help you set **realistic expectations** for your recovery.

But healing isn't just about time ⏳

Your recovery can also be influenced by factors such as:
💪 Injury severity
💧 Hydration
🥗 Nutrition
😴 Sleep
🏋️ Appropriate rehabilitation and loading
📈 Gradually progressing activity

One of the biggest mistakes people can make is **rushing the process**. Feeling better doesn't always mean the tissue is ready for everything you were doing before the injury.

At GoPhysio Durham, we can help you understand your injury, manage your recovery and progressively rebuild your **strength, movement and confidence**.

**Recover well. Move better. Get back to doing what you love.**

🦵 **WHERE IS YOUR KNEE PAIN?**

The location of your pain can give us valuable clues about what's going on—but it's only one piece of the puzzle.

For example:

📍 **Above the kneecap**
• Quadriceps tendinopathy

📍 **Front of the knee**
• Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome
• Knee osteoarthritis

📍 **Below the kneecap**
• Patellar tendinopathy
• Infrapatellar fat pad irritation

📍 **Inside of the knee**
• Medial meniscus injuries
• MCL injuries
• Pes anserine bursitis

📍 **Outside of the knee**
• IT band syndrome
• LCL injuries
• Lateral meniscus injuries

While these are common patterns, **pain location alone doesn't provide a diagnosis.** Many knee conditions can present in similar ways, which is why a thorough assessment is so important.

At GoPhysio Durham, we take the time to assess:
✅ Your symptoms
✅ Your movement patterns
✅ Strength and flexibility
✅ Training or activity levels
✅ Your goals

By understanding the bigger picture, we can identify the likely cause of your knee pain and create a rehabilitation plan tailored specifically to you.

Whether you're recovering from a sports injury, struggling with knee pain during everyday activities, or looking to get back to training, we're here to help.

🏥 **SURGERY IS JUST THE FIRST STEP. REHABILITATION IS WHAT GETS YOU MOVING AGAIN.**

Whether you've had a knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, shoulder surgery, spinal surgery, or another orthopaedic procedure, the right rehabilitation plays a vital role in your recovery.

While surgery may repair the structure, rehabilitation helps you regain:
✅ Strength
✅ Mobility
✅ Balance and coordination
✅ Confidence in movement
✅ The ability to return to work, sport, and everyday life

Without a structured rehabilitation programme, it's common to experience:
• Ongoing stiffness
• Muscle weakness
• Reduced confidence
• Difficulty returning to normal activities
• Slower overall recovery

At GoPhysio Durham, we tailor every rehabilitation programme to your surgery, your goals, and your stage of recovery.

Whether you're aiming to:
🏃 Return to sport
🚶 Walk comfortably again
💼 Get back to work
🏋️ Rebuild strength
🌿 Or simply regain your independence

—we'll support you every step of the way with evidence-based rehabilitation designed around you.

Recovery isn't about rushing the process—it's about progressing safely and confidently.

💻🏋️ **NECK PAIN DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PART OF YOUR DAILY LIFE.**

Whether you're working at a desk, spending hours on your phone, training in the gym, or simply dealing with the demands of everyday life, neck pain can make even the simplest tasks uncomfortable.

The good news? Most neck pain responds well to the right assessment and rehabilitation.

Common causes include:
✔️ Poor posture and prolonged sitting
✔️ Muscle tension and stress
✔️ Long periods looking at screens
✔️ Weakness and reduced neck stability
✔️ Whiplash or previous injuries
✔️ Poor sleeping positions

At GoPhysio Durham, we don't just focus on where it hurts—we look at *why* your neck pain developed in the first place.

By assessing your movement, posture, strength and lifestyle, we can create a personalised treatment plan designed to:
✅ Reduce pain
✅ Improve mobility
✅ Restore strength and confidence
✅ Help prevent your symptoms from returning

Whether your goal is to work comfortably, train pain-free, or simply enjoy everyday life without stiffness and discomfort, we're here to help.
