Having surgery? Have you thought as much about the recovery as the operation?
Over the last five years I've worked with many people following surgery, and one thing I've noticed is how much time goes into researching the surgeon and procedure, while the practical side of recovery often gets thought about afterwards.
When should you arrange MLD? What will you need at home? What about compression, drains or seromas? And if you're travelling abroad for surgery, who looks after you once you're home?
I've spent the last few months putting together a free practical guide to preparing for and recovering from surgery, covering the things I think are worth knowing and asking about beforehand.
I come from a nursing background and I'm an MLD UK registered Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist, working independently from my treatment room near Easingwold. I also provide mobile post-operative MLD in your own home, which can make life considerably easier when you're swollen, uncomfortable or not yet driving.
I cover approximately 15 miles from Tollerton, including Easingwold, Haxby, Strensall and surrounding areas.
There's no obligation to book with me — the guide is there to help you prepare properly.
