Recovery Stop We are not professionals, just people with a passion to give something back.

We are a volunteer led recovery group open on a Thursday evening 7pm/9pm trying to help others by sharing our own experiences of recovering from Alcohol and Drug addiction.

Not long now and we will be 6 years old. What makes us that age is the connection, the community, the honesty, the support and love to see people get well. Drugs and Alcohol takes lots from us but Recovery gives us so much back and more. Together we are strong 💪

Last week we reflected on the Story of John Kevin Hines. Someone who remakebly was kept afloat in the waters below the the golden gate bridge against all odds. Onlookers identified that it was a Sea lion that was keeping him afloat and saved his life whilst the emergency services arrived. Recovery from Drugs or Alcohol is not always straight forward but strengthened by the tools we learn along the way. Some days can be really hard and it's just one thing that's keeping us afloat. Maybe not a sea lion but something we recognise and are truly grateful for.

I am my problem but also my solution

This is very true. After years and years of drinking, I was the only one that needed to take action and be accountable. Part of that accountability is attending group's like Recovery Stop, connecting with like minded and learning to live a life without alcohol and for others it's drugs.

We are so grateful for the increased engagement at both of our venues recently. We cannot face this journey of recovery alone.
We are blessed by such a beautiful community & safe place that's been created to meet like minded people & get a bit more knowledge and understanding around our condition.
Addiction Recovery is often not seen by us or our friends and family but it is possible. We can and do recover.

3 months to our 6 year anniversary ❤️
