Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic.
Sometimes, it looks like overthinking every conversation, needing to have a plan for everything, staying constantly busy, or appearing completely calm while your mind feels anything but calm.

That’s what can make anxiety so difficult to recognise, even for the person experiencing it.

You don’t have to be visibly struggling for your feelings to be valid. And you don’t have to “have it worse” before you deserve support.

If this resonated with you, save this post for a reminder that anxiety can be quiet, too.

And if someone came to mind while reading this, send it to them.

Sometimes, we don’t realize how much of our self-worth we’ve handed over to other people.
Their attention makes us feel valuable.
Their silence makes us question ourselves.
Their approval makes us feel secure.
Their rejection makes us feel like we’re not enough.

But other people’s opinions are not an accurate measurement of your worth.

You don’t have to be liked by everyone to be worthy. You don’t have to constantly prove yourself to deserve love. And you don’t have to abandon your needs just to keep people in your life.

Building self-worth means learning to trust your own value, even when nobody is clapping for you.

Your worth doesn’t increase when someone chooses you, and it doesn’t disappear when someone doesn’t.

Save this as a reminder for the days you forget.

Not every “no” needs a story behind it.
Sometimes, we over-explain because we’re afraid of disappointing people, being misunderstood, or being seen as selfish.

But having a boundary doesn’t make you difficult. Protecting your time doesn’t make you cold. Choosing yourself doesn’t make you selfish.

You’re allowed to say no without writing a whole explanation to make someone else comfortable.

Let your “no” be clear.
Let your boundary stand.
Let yourself breathe without guilt.

You don’t need permission to protect your peace.

What’s one “no” you’ve learned to say without feeling guilty?

Sometimes, the decisions that scare us the most are the ones that shape us the most.
Think back for a moment…

What decision looked risky then but proved wise later?

Maybe it was leaving a job, starting over, saying no, taking a chance, or simply choosing yourself.

Share your story. You never know who might need the courage to make a similar decision.

We’re growing… and we’d love you to be part of it!

Are you a counsellor, coach or psychotherapist looking for somewhere to practise that feels like more than just a room with four walls?

The Counselling Space is growing, and we’re looking for counsellors to join our team across our Eastleigh and brand new Lower Upham, Hampshire spaces.

We’re building a community of therapists who believe that private practice doesn’t have to mean working alone.

At The Counselling Space, you’ll have the freedom to build your own practice, whilst being part of a supportive team of therapists who genuinely want to see each other succeed.

Beautiful, welcoming therapy spaces
Flexible working around your practice
A community of like-minded therapists
Opportunities for networking, CPD and collaboration
A space where you can develop, connect and grow
And, importantly… people to have a cuppa with between clients.

Our new Lower Upham space is particularly exciting. A calm, welcoming environment designed to create a different kind of therapeutic space, including a dedicated creative working room for young people and clients with additional needs.

We’re interested in hearing from counsellors who bring different experiences, backgrounds and specialisms to our team. We love having a diverse mix of practitioners because there isn’t one type of client, and there certainly isn’t one type of therapist.

Whether you’re thinking about taking the leap into private practice, looking for a new home for your existing practice, or simply fancy being part of something a little different…

We’d love to hear from you.

Eastleigh & Lower Upham, Hampshire
In-person & online practitioners welcome
