🧠 Practice what we preach 🧘🏼‍♀️

People hear the word “exercise” and assume it’s sweaty, grunt worthy, push ups or burpees… but that’s not always the case.

Exercise is movement, movement is exercise.

Each week we have regular discussions with clients about understanding their bodies, listening to it, how to work alongside it, building that mind to muscle connection.

Our sessions can range between light weights, bands, body weight, fascia movements, B.I.G movements, falls prevention, balance training, reaction training and more!

On Saturday, we took our own advice and had the wonderful Monty come in and take us through a restorative yoga session & sound bath. Learning as we went, we all left fully restored and rested (and filled with mint tea!)

So, even on the days it feels overwhelming. Just remember you can slow it down, listen to the body and adapt to your needs of the day.

A few little moments from yesterday’s Restorative Yoga Brunch at Brodie 🫶

Thank you so much to everyone who came along and shared the space. It was such a lovely few hours exploring practical ways we can support the nervous system through movement, breath, somatic practice and rest.

We had a good old bounce and shake, explored some gentle somatic movement, then slowed things down with myofascial release, Yin and Restorative Yoga before finishing with sound.

And, of course, there were plenty of yummy nibbles, snacks and herbal teas in between 🌸

I hope you slept well last night and are taking good care of yourself today. After a longer restorative practice, it can sometimes take a little time for everything to settle, so keep things gentle, stay well hydrated and notice what your body needs.

There’s nothing you need to “do” with the experience afterwards either. Sometimes the most supportive thing is simply to let the body take what it needs from the practice and carry on gently with your day.

And what an incredible setting to spend the day in. A huge thank you to everyone at the National Trust for Scotland and Brodie Castle for making it possible to hold these sessions in such a beautiful space 🙏🏼

Thank you again to everyone who joined me and brought such a lovely energy to the day 💖

The next Restorative Yoga Brunch dates will be released very soon, along with some new 2-hour Saturday classes at Brodie.
