BRING A BUDDY FOR THE WHOLE OF JUNE. As of Monday 1st June, I’ve been offering bring a buddy to any workout and your buddy will train for free. I know from first hand experience that exercise has helped my mental health throughout the years and I want others to see the power of exercise and the positive impact it has on our mental health. Bring a buddy will give your buddy a taste of what I have to offer at Mind Over Body. My aim has always been to get as many people to exercise and to see the positive impact that exercise has on our mental health. If you know someone who wants to exercise but hasn’t got the confidence or support then this could be the perfect opportunity for them. It doesn’t matter if you are different abilities as I will tailor the programme to suit the needs of both clients. After all, happiness is working out with a friend. My priority has always been to make each and every session fun and enjoyable but, also to make you feel mentally and physically stronger. I always vary my training styles and techniques on a regular basis so you remain interested and passionate about your training.
My training techniques are a hybrid of the various styles acquired over the years and most importantly I incorporate a great wealth of personal experience and knowledge of mental health and it’s attributes to physical health. As always, I am on this journey with you and will be every step of the way!
The reasons I workout daily are:
🔹Confidence
🔹Strength
🔹The feeling after a workout
🔹The feeling of accomplishment
🔹Health
🔹Therapy
🔹My loved ones
🔹Happiness
🔹Stress relief
🔹ME
I want others to workout for the same reasons. www.themindoverbody.co.uk

Happy bank holiday everyone!!! The time has come for another sweepstake. The World Cup is just around the corner, starting on Oscar’s birthday, Thursday 11th June. There are 48 teams to choose from and to pick a team you need to put £5 in. This will total £240. The winner of each sweepstake will get £80 and the runners up will get £40. The remaining £120 from each sweepstake will be donated to charity. The chosen charity is Mind. This money will be donated to Mind via Laleham Football
Club for their charity event day in memory of their Chairman, Scott Brundish. Mind is a prominent mental health charity dedicated to providing advice, support, and information to anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Their core mission is to champion better mental health, fight stigma, and ensure that those with mental health issues receive support and respect. I am running more than one sweepstake so you can enter as many times as you like. All teams will be chosen at random by the participant and no one will be able to see who they are choosing. If you wish to join in and I won’t be seeing you, we will fairly choose your team whilst being filmed. This video will then be sent to you privately. Roll on the 11th June 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️

More and more women are turning to resistance training for a strong, healthy body and I am seeing a particular increase in women over the age of 50 coming to me for personal training.

Exercise that builds muscle endurance, or resistance training, can help older adults to preserve their independence and quality of life. It can overcome the loss of muscle mass and strength, build resilience, ease the management of chronic conditions, and reduce physical vulnerability.

The health and fitness benefits of resistance training are incredible:
1 | Muscle Tone
2 | Maintain Strength As You Age
3 | Improves Posture
4 | Mental Health
5 | More Confidence
6 | Heart Health and Well-Being

At Mind Over Body I tailor each and every session to suit the needs of my variety of clients. I focus on form and correct positioning before progressing. No-one wants a gym injury, do they? I appreciate that these fundamental movement patterns cross over into every day tasks.

Each and every one of my clients are stronger than they think! I love watching
the confidence grow in my clients when lifting weights they never expected to lift, learning a new exercise and improving balance and coordination.

I love how dedicated my clients are! Consistency is key and I am here to support you every step of the way. xS

I wish they showed this in schools. There are so many young girls out there that grow up into women, not understanding how body composition works or why weight is never the only indicator of someone’s health. And why would they? School based education lays the foundation for our perception of so many things. It really feels like it has let us down when it comes to matters like this. And of course, this applies to men too. www.themindoverbody.co.uk

At Mind Over Body I am here to support you physically and mentally. I have clients of every age and everyone has their own personal battles. My article today is based on menopause. Menopause is a fact of life but it can also mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter in a women’s life. Exercise is known as the secret weapon against menopause. Exercise helps relieve symptoms like sleep problems, depression and osteoporosis BUT it also has many other benefits.
🔹Improves bone density
🔹Increases your metabolism
🔹Improves your skin
🔹Boosts your mood

There are 4 stages of menopause and each stage has different symptoms.
🔹Stage 1: Premenopause
🔹Stage 2: Perimenopause
🔹Stage 3: Menopause
🔹Stage 4: Postmenopause
There are a variety of things that you can do to help reduce or get rid of these symptoms.

LIFESTYLE CHANGES: Leading a healthy life and taking care of your body is one of the best ways to alleviate menopause symptoms. Positive lifestyle changes also result in a lower risk of future health problems. Some examples of lifestyle changes include:

EXERCISE REGULARLY. Exercising regularly can be one of the most effective natural treatments for menopause. Menopause symptoms often occur because of declining estrogen levels and imbalances in hormones. Consequently, doing moderate exercise on a regular basis can help stabilize these hormones.

EATING A HEALTHY DIET. Consume a balanced diet consisting of fruit, vegetables, protein, fiber and dairy products. Good eating habits ensure that you are getting all the necessary vitamins and nutrients.

RELAXATION EXERCISES: Stress can release a number of chemicals in your body that can exacerbate and worsen menopause symptoms. While its unrealistic to expect to get rid of all your stress, taking some time to yourself to relax can significantly help your symptoms. Read a book, take a hot bath, have a night out with friends, or do relaxing exercises.

Exercising, focusing on health and a positive attitude can help you keep a healthy body during the menopause. www.themindoverbody.co.uk
