The traditional hair salon now has a nail bar and barber area, and an ice cream parlour was added to improve residents’ nutrition. The Grand Opening of our Lyons Tea Room

We were absolutely delighted to officially open our beautiful new Lyons Tea Room here at Appleby House.

After much excitement and anticipation, residents gathered together to celebrate this wonderful new space, created for everyone to enjoy a lovely cup of tea, delicious cakes, conversation, laughter, and a little bit of nostalgia.

Our resident David did the honours by making a lovely speech and cutting the ribbon, which was met with lots of cheers and smiles from everyone. Jill also did a fantastic job helping to serve tea and cake, making the afternoon feel extra special.

The tea room has already brought so much joy, and we know it will become a much-loved place for residents, families, and friends to come together and make happy memories.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this lovely idea to life. Here’s to many more afternoons of tea, cake, and friendship at Appleby House. 💛

We had a wonderful time celebrating St George’s Day here at Appleby House
As always, we were treated to fantastic entertainment from MACK Entertainment, with the lovely Amy Putt bringing the room to life with a selection of beloved British classics. Residents were singing along, tapping their feet, and enjoying every moment of the celebration.

Opportunities such as these are so valuable, encouraging social interaction, creativity and a shared sense of achievement, all while celebrating the arrival of the spring season!

Our Easter celebrations are still in full swing here at Appleby House, with more wonderful music and entertainment to enjoy.

A huge thank you to MACK Entertainment for bringing us the lovely and very talented Malindi, who treated our residents to a fantastic selection of upbeat tunes. There was plenty of toe-tapping, singing along, and smiles all around—just how we like it!

Music truly brings everyone together, and it was another joyful afternoon filled with energy, laughter, and special moments.

We can’t wait for more celebrations to come!
