A little bit of my background you might not know 👀

My first career was in recruitment, working across different industries, helping launch an office and eventually managing recruitment teams.

You learn a lot about people doing that. How to listen, ask useful questions and pick up on what someone needs, even when they’re struggling to explain it themselves.

I’m a bit of a chameleon. Working with so many different businesses taught me to adapt quickly, understand different personalities and get a feel for how a company works.

That’s been hugely useful in my freelance work. Every client has different priorities, ways of communicating and ideas about what good support looks like. Being able to get to grips with those quickly helps me build relationships and get things moving.

When I look back, there’s a common thread through my whole working life: getting to know a business, understanding what it needs and finding a way to help.

Sometimes that’s the right person. Sometimes it’s a better process, a useful system or someone to take a project forward.

When you run your business, finding opportunities, planning content and keeping your knowledge up to date can easily slip down the list.

I’ve set up three scheduled tasks in ChatGPT. It automatically runs them at the times I’ve chosen and sends me a notification when they’re ready.

Here are the prompts to copy and adapt 👇

🔎 EVENTS
Every Monday at 8am, search for upcoming events about [topic] near [location]. Include the date, booking link and why each event fits my business. Only send new finds.

💭 WEEKLY REFLECTION
Every Friday at 3pm, remind me to reflect on my working week. Ask me one question at a time about wins, challenges and client questions. Then help me turn my answers into three social post ideas.

📚 LEARNING
Every Sunday and Wednesday at 8am, send me a short lesson on [topic]. Build on previous lessons, explain it simply, and suggest additional reading or podcasts on the subject.

With tools like Canva and Squarespace, creating your own website feels much more doable now.

You choose a template, add your words and pictures, and get something you’re actually quite proud of.

Then come the fiddly bits. Getting it looking right on your phone. Sorting the booking link. Working out the settings that help people find you on Google and in AI search.

That’s where I can come in.

Do the parts you’re comfortable with, then hand over the bits that are taking too much time or making your head hurt.

You’ve already done a lot of the work, so paying for help with what’s left can cost much less than having a whole website built for you.

I’m reasonably priced, easy to work with, and won’t overwhelm you with tech talk. You don’t need to know the proper names for anything, just show me what you’re stuck on.

We’ll agree what needs doing and the price before I start.

You might know exactly how you work, but your new client doesn’t.

They’ve just said yes and handed over their money. If they then have to chase you to find out what happens next, they’re going to start wondering whether they’ve made the right decision.

That doesn’t mean you’re bad at what you do. It means you’ve forgotten what this bit feels like from their side.

If the next few steps feel chaotic, with one email asking for a document, another asking a question you forgot, then a few days of silence, it doesn’t give them much confidence. Even if you’re doing brilliant work behind the scenes.

First impressions really do make a difference. When a client knows what you need from them, what happens next and when they’ll hear from you, they can relax and feel excited about working with you.

A welcome pack, a form that gathers everything you need in one go, or a template email explaining the next steps can make such a difference. Put a few simple steps in the right order and the whole process feels easier for both you and your client.
