Lifelink

Lifelink Lifelink supports individuals to be healthier and happier wherever they live, work or learn.

As a social enterprise charity Lifelink exists to provide an early and crisis intervention, stress management, mental health improvement, emotional resilience and personal development service, within a supportive and accessible therapeutic environment, in particular but not exclusively in areas of high deprivation and for people and communities most affected by health inequalities. Our focus is on

providing a high-quality, client –centred service for young people and adults based on the holistic and social model of health. To ensure this, we work extensively in building and maintaining high quality partnerships and relationships with a wide range of strategic and delivery partners and networks to support a community development approach to service delivery. We operate our services in response to commissioned work, grant funded programmes, service level agreements and new partnership agreements.

Lifelink Workwell has spent the Summer talking to stakeholders all across the sports landscape - and finding out what the connection between sport and mental health means to them.

Today's insights come from Viktoria Tsvetanova-Lightbody, formerly an international badminton player and currently a leading figure in the sport's global governance.

Take a look at what she had to say below👇

The summer of sport focus continues over at Lifelink Workwell with some insights from Irena - an avid swimmer, who also built a successful swim school in South Africa.

Irena talked to us about some of the lessons she's learned from a background in sport and how those lessons often go beyond the pool - into all other aspects of life.

Check out her story in the post below👇

This time it's Chris, talking about the mindset and environment he looks to create around his teams as a youth football coach.

What happens when you bring nearly 100 Lifelink colleagues together for a day?

Connection, collaboration, and plenty of laughter. 💙

Last week, colleagues from across Lifelink came together for Lifelink Together Day – a chance to step away from our day-to-day roles, strengthen relationships, celebrate our values and spend time with the people behind the work we do every day.

From team challenges and exploring Glasgow to moments of reflection and mindfulness, the day was a reminder that supporting each other is just as important as supporting the communities we serve.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day such a success. We're proud to have such passionate, caring and dedicated people at the heart of Lifelink.

Our focus on sport across the Summer through Lifelink Workwell continues with more conversations around sport, wellbeing and how it plays a different part in each of our lives.

Below some reflections from former ice skater and coach Luis on the impact that sport has had on his life - including the lessons it teaches around leadership and burnout.

Elite athletes may perform on the world's biggest stages, but they're not immune to mental health challenges.

That's why it's so powerful to hear sports stars speaking openly about their experiences. By sharing their stories, they're helping to break down stigma and reminding others that it's okay to reach out for support.

Thanks to Mental Health UK for sharing these important voices, and keep an eye on Lifelink Workwell as we continue our focus on sport and mental health throughout the summer.
