As part of our Foot & Ankle Focus Week, we're introducing the specialists helping patients overcome pain, injury and mobility issues so they can return to everyday life and the activities they enjoy.

Mr Solan is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who has been practising since 1992. His specialist interests include foot and ankle conditions, arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, forefoot surgery, rheumatoid arthritis and Achilles tendon disorders.

His specialist interests include:

✅ Ankle replacement surgery
✅ Achilles tendon injuries
✅ Heel pain & plantar fasciitis
✅ Foot & ankle arthritis

With specialist training in both foot & ankle surgery and complex trauma & limb reconstruction, he offers the latest evidence-based treatments for a wide range of conditions and injuries.

His specialist interests include:

As part of our Foot & Ankle Focus Week, we're introducing the specialists helping patients overcome pain, injury and mobility issues to get back on their feet and return to the activities they enjoy.

Mr Halliwell has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Guildford since 2001 and specialises exclusively in the treatment of foot and ankle conditions in both adults and children. He is a nationally recognised expert in ankle replacement surgery and was elected President of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) in 2022.

His specialist interests include:

✅ Foot & ankle surgery
✅ Ankle arthritis
✅ Total ankle replacement surgery
✅ Ankle ligament injuries and instability
✅ Achilles tendon injuries and reconstruction
✅ Bunions and forefoot deformities
✅ Flat foot correction
✅ Childhood foot and ankle conditions

Mr Halliwell regularly performs complex foot and ankle reconstructions, including ankle replacements, and is actively involved in national research and surgical training. He is a Principal Investigator on the national TARVA ankle replacement study and teaches on specialist foot and ankle courses across the UK and internationally.
