Today marks the first day of Movember, raising awareness of men’s mental health. 💙

Too many men and young men struggle in silence. This month, we’re encouraging open conversations, checking in on one another and reminding everyone that it’s okay to talk and ask for help.

Throughout November, we’ll be sharing more about men’s mental health and how we can all make a difference.

Let’s break the stigma, start conversations and remind men they’re not alone.

A little creativity, connection and Halloween fun! 🎃

Carving pumpkins was a great opportunity for our Transition Support Group members to focus on their wellbeing, spend time together and enjoy a relaxed, supportive space. Sometimes, taking a break, trying something creative and connecting with others can make a real difference. 🧡

Our Open Minds Transition Support Service supports young people as they navigate the transition into adulthood, offering approachable, person-centred support for mental health and everyday challenges.

✨ Want to find out more about the support we offer? Visit our website! ✨

Our service is commissioned by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

🎉🎂 WE’RE CELEBRATING OUR 1ST BIRTHDAY! 🎂🎉

It’s officially been ONE WHOLE YEAR since we secured the keys to our Central Huddersfield base for Invictus Wellbeing! 💙

What a year it’s been! Like any journey, we’ve had a couple of bumps in the road, but we’ve also experienced some real highs that have made this first year so special.

We’ve welcomed new members into our amazing team, built fantastic partnerships with Locala Health & Wellbeing, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and many other brilliant services, and most importantly, supported hundreds of young people in Kirklees. We’re excited to see our partnerships continue to grow, build new connections and reach even more young people who may need our support.

We also want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us get to where we are today. Whether you’ve donated your time, money, furniture, equipment, resources, or offered a helping hand, every single contribution has meant so much to us. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in just 12 months, and we can’t wait to see what year two brings!

Here’s to continued growth, amazing partnerships, and making an even bigger difference together. This is only the beginning! ✨

We were very fortunate to welcome Katy from BBC Children in Need to our Shipley office this week 💛

Katy caught up with our CEO Danny and our two practitioners Zainab and Saad to hear more about the work their grant is helping us deliver for children and young people across West Yorkshire.

We've recorded a few pieces for BBC Children in Need week and we'll keep you posted when to listen out for those 👀

A big thank you to Katy for taking the time to visit, and to BBC Children in Need for supporting our work. To everyone who donates, fundraises or gets involved, you’re helping us be there for young people and their mental health in our areas of operation 🐻💛

🌟 Meet the Team: Jo, our Chief Operating Officer (COO)! 🌟

We’re shining a spotlight on Jo and the vital role she plays in supporting the work we do at Invictus Wellbeing.

As COO, Jo oversees our operations, supports our teams, develops our services and helps shape the future of our growing organisation, ensuring we continue to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people.

Young people’s mental health needs urgent action!

The Centre for Young Lives, through its Future Minds campaign, has published a new Mid-Term Report assessing the Government’s progress on young people’s mental health at the midpoint of this Parliament.

The report gives a “Requires Urgent Improvement” verdict and highlights the scale of the challenge ahead.

It warns that up to 3.9 million more children and young people in England could be referred for mental health support before the end of this Parliament, with more than 1.1 million potentially referred but not receiving treatment.

At Invictus Wellbeing, we know how important it is that young people can access support early, before things reach crisis point. Young people deserve to have someone listen, take them seriously and provide help when they need it.

That’s why Invictus Wellbeing is proud to add our name to the Future Minds report, alongside organisations across the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition, calling for urgent action on children and young people’s mental health.

The Future Minds campaign is calling for:
A “triple-lock” on spending for children and young people’s mental health
Mental health to be made a priority across Government
Early Support Hubs to be available to every young person

We’re working hard across West Yorkshire to provide accessible, early support but we also need sustained investment in mental health, youth work and open-access support to ensure young people can get help before they reach crisis point.

Young people’s mental health cannot wait. 💚
