How a tiny corn can throw off your entire body—from your ankle to your lower back.
It is easy to brush off a small corn as a minor nuisance, but something as tiny as a concentrated patch of hard skin can quietly change the way you walk. When a corn causes a sharp pinch or pain under your foot, your body instinctively shifts your weight to avoid the discomfort.
That subtle adjustment alters your natural gait, placing uneven strain up your kinetic chain and often resulting in aches or tension in your:
Ankle
Knee
Hip
Lower back
You don't have to let a small foot issue throw your whole body out of alignment. Let's get it treated properly so you can walk comfortably again.

Keeping diabetic feet healthy: Why routine professional checks matter so much.
If you manage diabetes, regular foot care is an essential part of your overall health routine. Reduced sensation or changes in circulation mean that minor issues like small rubs, dry patches, or subtle pressure spots can easily go unnoticed if you rely on touch or sight alone.
Routine assessments help catch changes early, prevent complications, and keep you safely on your feet.

The secret to keeping your feet happy between professional visits.
While regular appointments with your foot health practitioner are essential for tackling stubborn hard skin or complex nail care, your daily routine at home makes a huge difference too.
Here are a few simple habits to protect your feet:
Dry thoroughly: Make sure to gently dry your feet completely—especially carefully between your toes—to prevent moisture from trapping and causing fungal issues.
Moisturise smartly: Apply a good foot cream to your heels and soles to lock in hydration, but avoid putting lotion directly between your toes.
Check your feet daily: Take a quick look for any changes, pressure spots, or breaks in the skin so you can catch small issues early.
Keep up with your daily care, and if you ever need a helping hand across St Ives, Hayle, Carbis Bay, Camborne and Redruth get in touch to book your mobile visit or clinic session!

Is that hard skin or a corn? Here is how to tell the difference.
It is easy to lump all stubborn foot roughness into the same category, but calluses and corns actually develop for different reasons. Calluses are generally broader patches of thickened skin caused by repeated friction or pressure across the sole or heel. Corns, on the other hand, are smaller, concentrated areas of hard skin with a central "core" that often forms over bony prominences from tight footwear.
Trying to treat or cut them away at home can lead to skin damage or infection. Let a professional safely remove them and restore your comfort.

If bending down to reach your toes has become a struggle—whether due to back pain, joint stiffness, pregnancy, or other health conditions—trying to manage them yourself can quickly become risky.
Reaching down with clippers when you can't properly see or maneuver often leads to accidental nicks, skin tears, or worsening discomfort.
Let me take the strain off and look after your feet safely in the comfort of your home or at my clinic.
