Pendle Funerals

Pendle Funeral Services is a well-established family business owned by Tony and Dee Richards, serving all areas. All faiths and beliefs are encompassed.

The Firs Funeral Home is situated on the Penzance Road at St Johns, Helston on The Lizard Peninsula. Our private chapel of rest and offices are set amongst trees in very tranquil surroundings. The Firs is easily accessible with private parking, wheelchair access and disabled facilities. Pendle Funeral Services offer a 24-hour on call service, along with the office being open throughout the day to provide advice and support. Funeral Arrangements can be made in the comfort of your own home, or in our office at The Firs. Our staff include lady funeral directors and experienced bearers. Professional, sensitive advice and assistance is available at all times. Funerals are individually arranged to suit the personal requirements of each family and services can be conducted, not only in churches and crematoria, but also in the privacy of your own home, our chapel of rest at The Firs, woodland burial grounds or on suitable private land. We are very aware of the ecological needs of our clients and can provide all available bio-degradable and sustainable coffins, ie bamboo, wicker, seagrass and willow and woollen coffins in addition to the range of solid wood or veneered, with the more recent addition of custom designed picture coffins. Our fleet of vehicles include air-conditioned limousines for extra comfort. A horse-drawn hearse can be made available, creating a more traditional air.

The shocking reality of Pure Cremation laid bare. Please stay local- your local funeral director can provide the same service in a local crematorium for the same price as Pure Cremation.

Pure Cremation spend millions of pounds to saturate TV advertising and we cannot compete with that. It’s important that everyone is aware that this is a service that we’ve always offered. It’s also important to be fully informed about what a direct cremation entails- please contact us at Pendles to discuss the options available. 01326 573080

The huge storage facility, which can hold up to 700 bodies in racks five coffins high, is headed by Pure Cremations

On Sunday 27th September, Jamie completed the Berlin Marathon, raising an amazing £1370 for SANDS (baby loss) Charity. It is a cause very close to his heart. Thank you to everyone who supported Jamie! If you’d like to donate to this worthy cause, the page is still open…

We are proud members of the Society Of Allied Independent Funeral Directors- we therefore invite regulation voluntarily to ensure that we comply with the most stringent UK standards.

Please take the time to read the article below which reflects our thoughts:

SAIF has responded following the sentencing of Robert Bush at Hull Crown Court. Bush was sentenced to twenty years after pleading guilty to 67 offences connected with his operation of Legacy Independent Funeral Directors. In his sentencing remarks, Mr Justice Hilliard said: “No sentence I pass can...

About time that this -incredibly- misleading advert from Pure Cremation was banned…

Before choosing a direct cremation, please check what your local funeral director can provide. If it’s a price-led decision, then we are usually cheaper than Pure Cremation. We also look after your loved one at our premises, meet face to face with your family and you will be cremated locally in Cornwall.
