Well, it's official. Bluebird Care Rochdale is now the proud sponsor of added time at Rochdale Association Football Club ⚽💙

Of all the sponsorships in football, this one just made sense. Because if there's one thing we know a bit about, it's the value of extra time. We spend every day giving people more of it — more time at home, more time doing what they love, more time with the people who matter.
...And let's be honest, as any Dale fan will tell you, some of the best moments happen in those final few minutes. Last season being a pretty good example of that.

We are very proud of our approach to providing home care, and here is a perfect example of why.

Care does not have to stay inside four walls, and it certainly does not have to stop at the practical bits. Sometimes it looks like a swim. Sometimes it is a trip out somewhere that matters to someone. The everyday tasks are important, of course they are. But so is the part where life carries on being life.

A lot of the families who come to us already have people involved. A district nurse calling in. Their own doctor. Sometimes a physiotherapist or someone from the hospital.

The worry is a fair one: does bringing in a care company make all that more complicated, or does it help?

Our job is to fit around what is already there. That means talking to the people involved, following the advice they give, and making sure whoever comes to the door knows what everyone else knows. Nobody should be left passing messages between us all. Send us a message and we will explain how it works in practice.

Live-in care means a carer lives in the home and supports someone through the day and the night.

Most people think of it as something for a person living on their own. For couples, it can be just as important, for a very different reason.

When one partner needs more help than the other can manage, the option put in front of them is often a care home for one and an empty house for the other, after decades together. Live-in care takes that unenviable choice away. You both get to stay put and continue to enjoy your lives together.

Every time a carer someone has never met walks in, that person has to start again. Explaining how they like things. Working out whether they can relax. Getting used to a stranger in their own home.

For someone with dementia, that is not a small inconvenience. It can be genuinely upsetting, and it can undo weeks of progress. Sending the same people is not a nice extra. It is the difference between care that is put up with and care that is welcomed. 💙

💦 Drenched for Dementia 💦

Next up… the brilliant Jane! 🫡

She watched the video. She saw what happened. She still said yes. That's either incredibly brave or slightly questionable decision-making. Either way, we're here for it. 😄

Raising awareness of dementia matters. It helps people feel understood, supported and less alone. The fact that a bucket of freezing cold water is involved is just a bonus.

Due to incredible growth, driven largely by our fantastic office team and amazing care professionals, Bluebird Care Rochdale is expanding.

We're currently looking for:

2 Live-in Care Assistants (at least one must be a driver)
3 Domiciliary Care Assistants who are drivers and happy to work alternate weekends

We don't advertise very often, and that's because we're fortunate to have built a great team. The demand for our services is growing rapidly because of the outstanding people who work here and the way we treat and support them.
