We were very proud to see VISIO co-founder and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon Ms Ranjit Sandhu presenting in Istanbul.

Ranjit shared two challenging cataract cases with the ZEISS EMEA faculty. One involved the combination of a dense cataract, glaucoma and uveitis. The other explored a difficult question about a trifocal lens after seven years of good vision in an eye with pseudoexfoliation.

Rather than presenting the decisions as easy, the sessions invited questions, live polling and discussion with other surgeons. This kind of open professional learning helps clinicians examine the judgement involved when several factors overlap.

The cases are educational and cannot tell another person what treatment they need. Individual cataract and lens decisions always require a full assessment.

From the first hello at reception to your conversation with the consultant, we want you to know what is happening and why.

We usually ask patients to arrive about 30 minutes before a new consultation, unless the appointment team gives different instructions.

This allows time for any planned measurements or scans. A new consultation may last up to 45 minutes.

If dilating drops are needed, your vision may be blurred and bright light can feel uncomfortable for a while, so please follow the travel advice in your appointment information.

Feeling nervous before cataract surgery is understandable. Clear explanations, time for questions and knowing who is looking after you can all matter.

At the ZEISS EMEA meeting in Istanbul, Sanjog shared why VISIO has also explored optional guided meditation around surgery.

In the first seven participants shown in the conference presentation, heart rate and self-rated anxiety were lower after the guided session for all seven. The early observations were encouraging, but this was a small internal service evaluation rather than a clinical trial. It does not mean every person will respond in the same way, and meditation does not replace clinical care or medication when medication is appropriate.

The wider message was simple: every procedure is happening to a real person, often for the first time. Human connection should never be treated as an optional extra.

We are very proud to share a special VISIO family moment.

Our co-founders, Sanjog and Ms Ranjit Sandhu, were both invited to speak at the ZEISS EMEA Cataract & Corneal Refractive User Meeting in Istanbul.

Sanjog spoke about the emotional experience around cataract surgery and VISIO's early use of optional guided meditation. In the seven participants shown in his conference presentation, heart rate and self-rated anxiety were lower after the meditation for all seven. These were encouraging early observations from a small internal service evaluation, not a clinical trial or a guarantee for every patient.

Ranjit shared two complex cataract cases with fellow surgeons, opening up discussion about the difficult decisions that can arise when several eye conditions overlap or when a lens that has worked well for years later presents a new dilemma.

We also learnt a huge amount from the other speakers. Sanjog would particularly like to thank Mr Mfazo Hove, who chaired his panel and generously took time to help him think through practical digital-marketing strategies for VISIO.

Thank you to ZEISS and everyone who welcomed a mother-and-son team from Buckinghamshire so warmly. We returned home inspired and ready to keep improving the experience we offer our patients.

Considering private cataract surgery?
Knowing what to expect can help you make a more informed decision about your care.

Cataracts can gradually affect your vision, making everyday activities such as reading, driving or recognising faces more difficult. Cataract surgery replaces the cloudy natural lens of the eye with a clear artificial lens, helping to restore clearer vision.

In this guide, we explore some of the key things to consider when looking at private cataract surgery, including:

* How cataracts can affect your eyesight
* When cataract surgery may be recommended
* What happens during your consultation
* What to expect from the procedure
* Lens options and choosing the right approach for your vision
* Recovery and aftercare following surgery
* The benefits of choosing private treatment

Every patient's eyes and visual needs are different, so a thorough assessment is an important part of deciding which treatment option is right for you.

We are still buzzing from our latest CPD event for Optometrists… and honestly, what a room.

70 Optoms joined us at VISIO Health at our April CPD event! 🤯

To see the growth from 4 attendees in October 2024, to 22 in October 2025, to 70 of you in the room this time, has been absolutely incredible. We are feeling so excited and optimistic about the future — and there are lots of exciting updates still to come. 👀

A huge thank you to our brilliant speakers and workshop leads:

✨ Mala Subash — AMD
✨ Fiona Jazayeri — Oculoplastics
✨ Cordelia McKechnie — Leadership
✨ Ranjit Sandhu — Premium lenses

The energy in the room was amazing, the discussions were brilliant, and it was so lovely seeing so many of you enjoying yourselves.

And yes… we all know you come for the food. 😂

We weren’t quite expecting such a big turnout, so we are very sorry to the last five people who had no rice! Thankfully, the vegan chickpea curry and chicken with mushroom sauce still went down a treat. 🍛

Most importantly, many of you have already started referring patients to VISIO — and we are genuinely so grateful. Your patients are having wonderful experiences with us, and you can see that reflected in our Doctify reviews (https://www.doctify.com/uk/practice/visio-health).

Thank you to every Optom who came, supported, referred, asked questions, shared ideas and helped make the day what it was. We love building this community with you. 💙

Next up: our Wellbeing-only CPD Day on Saturday 20 June — covering public speaking, anxiety, coaching and meditation.

Free registration is available here: (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/visio-wellbeing-cpd-day-public-speaking-anxiety-coaching-meditation-tickets-1978787467583)

More highlights coming soon… and trust us, we’re only just getting started. 🚀

Check out this video of one of our lovely patients' experience having Ptosis surgery with Mr Konal Saha, The Eyelid Surgeon, one of VISIO's Oculoplastic surgeons. 👁️

Ptosis surgery, also known as droopy eyelid repair or blepharoptosis repair, is a procedure to tighten the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid, improving vision and reducing eyelid heaviness. 🤨

We love to see happy patients post-surgery. 😊

If you or any loved onces are thinking about Oculoplastic surgery, please do get in touch with our team on 0800 032 2020, or book online at visiohealth.co.uk

What a day. What a journey.

In October this year, we welcomed 22 Optometrists to our CPD event at VISIO Health.

At our launch event in October 2024, we only had 4.

That growth alone tells a story: the word is spreading.

Many Optoms told us they had no idea VISIO was here, and were genuinely impressed by the facilities, the atmosphere, and the heart behind what we’re building. That feedback means everything to us.

📚 12 CPD points were accredited and successfully claimed by all attendees.

This really does feel like just the beginning. One day, we hope to fill a room with 100 Optoms, all connecting with our family values and our deeply patient-led approach to care.

🙏 To the optometrists who have been referring patients since the event - thank you. Your patients have been exceptionally well looked after, and the feedback has been wonderful.

Some moments really stayed with us:
- Same-day YAG capsulotomies booked, avoiding NHS waits of up to 6 months. Restoring vision in 15 mins
- Cataract consultations followed by surgery just 6 days later
This is why we do what we do. Your health is our vision.

☕🍽️ And of course — great learning deserves great hospitality.

Tea, coffee, breakfast… followed by a hot lunch
