Springkell House Caer Home is a 48-bedroom residential care home in Hindhead. At Springkell House Care Home, your loved one will enjoy a safe, secure and nurturing environment, with support from our friendly staff who will cater to their every need. We specialise in helping individuals with dementia, as well as offering experienced support for a variety of conditions. We aim to create a home-from-home environment at Springkell House, where your relative can enjoy a sense of independence in their daily lives and know they have a say in what happens at the home. We take a holistic approach to the care we provide and supporting needs of your loved one is always our number one priority. Springkell House offers the best of both a peaceful countryside location and convenient village amenities. The home is adjacent to the historic village of Hindhead, providing independent shops, popular cafes and scenic walks. The home itself has Victorian origins and, while fully renovated and sympathetically refurbished to accommodate the needs of the residents, the building retains many of its original features. Visitors to the home often comment on the warm and friendly atmosphere as soon as they enter the home, something which we hope you will also notice when you visit.

Later this week, the Beritaz Care team will be attending the 2026 Surrey Care Awards! 🏆

This event is an incredibly important opportunity to shine a light on those often-overlooked individuals working every day to support people to live happy, comfortable, and full lives. We are proud to be a part of the Surrey care sector and to be long-term supporters of this event.

This year we have the privilege of attending the awards, both as bronze sponsor and award finalist, as two of our homes have been nominated across multiple categories, including the ‘Care Home of the Year’ and ‘Nursing Home of the Year’ awards. We are proud to have been included amongst so many brilliant individuals and care providers also nominated at this year’s awards.

This is always one of our favourite events of the year, and we are grateful to the Surrey Care Association for the work they put in to hosting these awards. We can’t wait to hear all the inspiring and heartwarming stories from our fellow care providers and raise a glass to all the wonderful people dedicating their lives to supporting the health and happiness of others. 🥂

We have been enjoying the autumn sunshine at Springkell House 🌈

In between the wet and stormy weather we have been having recently, there have been lovely moments like this one. One of our team members captured this beautiful rainbow over Springkell House as the sun came out and the skies cleared. 🌈🏠

We have been making the most of the sunny autumn days with our residents, spending time in the garden or enjoying a gentle stroll in the local area. While we enjoy these moments of warmth and sunshine before winter arrives, there are plenty of fun activities ahead. As well as indoor activities, visiting entertainers, and armchair exercises to help our residents stay active, we will also be finding local places to visit on our minibus over the winter months.

The Surrey Care Awards are taking place next week, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our Beritaz Care family, as well as all the brilliant individuals who make up the Surrey care sector.

This year we are shortlisted for three categories: the ‘Care Home of the Year’ award and the ‘Team of the Year’ award, and our team member Mihai has been named as a finalist for the ‘Excellence in Residential Care Practice’ award. 🏆

We will also be cheering on our sister home, Robertson Nursing Home, who are also finalists at this year’s awards.

Thank you to the Surrey Care Association for the work they put into creating this fantastic event, and for recognising our team for the hard work and passion they show for delivering great care to our residents.

We are counting down the days until the awards and having the opportunity to share this celebration with our fellow Surrey care providers.

Our residents have been having fun creating some seasonal decorations in our autumn arts and crafts session. 🎨🎨

We were inspired by the changing season for our latest craft project with our residents, where they made their own autumnal fallen leaves out of clay. When the clay was dried, they picked their favourite seasonal colours to paint their leaves.

The residents really enjoyed trying out a new craft and being inspired by the season to create a decoration that made them think of happy autumn memories.

Everyone had a lot of fun in this arts and crafts session, and enjoyed getting creative with different mediums. The residents were very happy with their finished leaves, which will make the perfect addition to our autumn decorations around the home.

The theme of this year’s campaign for World Values Day is ‘Values and Volunteering’, encouraging people to volunteer their time to put their values into action to help make the world a better place. We have been delighted to welcome some fantastic volunteers to our homes to help with activities, provide musical entertainment, or just to spend some time chatting to our residents. We know how valuable these experiences with volunteers have been for our residents and the difference they have made by giving their time to brighten our residents’ days.

How can we support better mental health within care? Today is World Mental Health Day, and at Beritaz Care we are continuously striving to support the mental health of our residents, staff, and those in our wider community, including the family and friends of our residents.

From creating a living and working environment where people feel safe and comfortable to supporting residents to live with a sense of independence, and promoting activities that help residents to feel part of a community, supporting better mental health is a key factor in everyday life at our homes. The changes and improvements taking place across our homes are all there to create a better lifestyle for our residents, making sure they have everything they need to support their physical and mental wellbeing, however that looks for each individual.

Our person-centred approach to care means our residents feel respected and heard, knowing they can always talk to someone about anything on their mind. We understand how important it is for everyone to feel comfortable having conversations about mental health, and that is something we encourage and support for every member of the Beritaz Care family.

The theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day campaign is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change. Conversations about mental health make a difference. And they matter most when we listen to people’s experiences.”

We are welcoming autumn at Springkell House and celebrating the changing season with some autumnal decorations. 🍁🎃🌰

That start of October felt like the perfect time to give the home a bit of an autumn-themed makeover, and our residents were happy to help out. We decorated our porch with some fun seasonal décor, while some of our residents lent a hand in tidying up the flower beds and planting some new autumnal-coloured flowers.

Some of the other residents came outside to inspect our work and enjoyed some time in the autumnal sunshine while they appreciated all the beautiful colours of our new floral displays.

We also added a few touches of autumn throughout the home, making our lounges feel extra homely for the autumn season. There will be a few more additions to our seasonal decorations as we ready ourselves to celebrate Halloween at the end of the month, but for now, we think the home is looking great, and our residents agree.

We are delighted with the latest addition to our resident lounge. 🛋️ These lovely new armchairs were delivered recently and have helped us create an even more comfortable and inviting communal space for our residents to relax in.

The new furniture has been a big hit with our residents, who have been more than happy to put them to good use, settling in for a comfortable afternoon reading a book, or having a chat over a cup of tea. Our lounge is also the area of the home where many of our group activities take place, including armchair exercise sessions and musical activities. The new chairs are perfect for resident activities and complement the design scheme of the lounge very well.

The arrival of new furniture for resident bedrooms and communal areas is just the latest in our ongoing improvements around the home, all designed to create a homely, comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

It’s been a busy few months for the residents in our homes as they made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed the final days of summer. ☀️ Whether they were enjoying days out on the minibus, celebrating with friends and family, or welcoming special visitors to the home, our residents have had a lot of fun taking part in group activities and seasonal events.
