Cost: single payment ยฃ90 (Thatโ€™s equivalent to ยฃ15 per 2 hour session!)

Your mood and energy don't exist separately from your body.

Blood sugar dips can sometimes contribute to feelings such as irritability, shakiness, overwhelm, fatigue and strong cravings. When we feel this way, it's easy to reach for quick sources of energy, particularly sugary or refined carbohydrate foods, which can sometimes perpetuate the cycle.

This isn't about blaming yourself for your food choices or trying to have more willpower.

Sometimes we just forget or get too busy to actually care for ourselves.

Regular, nourishing meals containing protein, fibre and healthy fats can help support steadier energy and may also support more stable mood and cravings. If you're likely to be busy, plan ahead with nourishing foods and snacks available.

Try thinking about your nourishment in the same way you might if caring for someone else:

Would you let them go all day without eating?
Would you expect them to function well on sugary refined foods?
What would you give them to feel supported, nourished and thrive?

Your body deserves the same consideration.

Feed yourself like someone you deeply care for and you'll thrive.

Little Seeds, Big Benefits

Flaxseed, also called linseed, is one of those inexpensive everyday foods that packs rather a lot into a very small package. It provides fibre, plant-based omega-3 fats and lignans, alongside protein and a range of micronutrients.

Recent research suggests that regularly including flaxseed may have benefits for cardiometabolic health, gut health, inflammation and potentially some aspects of womenโ€™s health.

Ground flaxseed is more bioavailable (than whole seeds) providing nearly 2 grams of fibre tablespoon and can easily be incorporated to food like porridge, granola, yoghurt, overnight oats, smoothies, soups or baking.

Remember the fluid. Increasing fibre without increasing hydration can leave you feeling uncomfortable.

Flaxseed is an affordable, accessible (Aldi and Lidl sell it) and remarkably versatile whole food providing fibre, lignans and plant omega-3 fats, with growing evidence for benefits across cardiovascular, metabolic, gut and inflammatory health.

Why skipping breakfast can backfireโ€ฆ

Skipping breakfast isn't necessarily a problem for everyone. But if you regularly find yourself feeling tired, irritable, ravenous or reaching for something sweet later in the morning, it may be worth looking at what you're eating, and when.
Blood sugar balance is closely connected with energy, cravings and how we feel throughout the day. Starting the day with a meal containing protein, healthy fats and fibre can help provide more sustained nourishment and support steadier energy.

Protein is particularly useful at breakfast. It supports satiety and provides the building blocks your body needs for muscle, repair and many other important processes.

And breakfast doesn't need to mean a complicated recipe or a perfect Instagram-worthy plate. It can be simple food that works for you, your routine and your preferences.

The three breakfasts here are just some ideas to get you started.
