Swimming a German Shepherd and it's parallels with lunging a thoroughbred 🐎

Axle has been attending Hydrotherapy sessions throughout the year, we have been concentrating on under water treadmill sessions looking to improve muscle recruitment and tone through his core and spine to support his hip dysplasia diagnosis.

There have been great improvements since the start of the year thanks to his dedicated guardians who have committed to regular hydrotherapy, physiotherapy sessions and targeted exercises at home and in the gym guided by Win Clinic

Now Axle is stronger and less tense through muscles that were doing some extra work, we have had the ok to allow him some pool time to work on extension through the hind limbs and also for some good old fashioned fun 😊

Over the last few months I have said goodbye to some incredible canine friends, some of who are featured below 🙏🏼 and although I would never take away from the grief you feel as a pet guardian I want you to know I'm there with you in this journey as it can be very hard to navigate 🧭

I recently enrolled in the Blue Cross UK pet bereavement course to add structure and strength to my support for any one that may need it 🙏🏼 you may already know but Blue Cross provide an online support service which you can find more details here: https://www.bluecross.org.uk/pet-loss-support

The human animal bond is incredibly powerful and it is not to be underestimated 💪🏼 whether you are missing your cat, dog, horse, parrot or any non human creature feel safe to grieve in whichever way you feel helps 🙏🏼

🙅🏼‍♀️😡🤝😭🕊️

She's like "but I love the poooool"!!!!

Luckily with patience, purple Axolotls and wild boar sausages we managed to introduce Sox slowly and eagerly to the world of the Under Water Treadmill 🙌🏼🙏🏼
