🦻 A new era of hearing technology

The last few weeks have seen some major new hearing technology launches from the industry’s biggest manufacturers, including: Phonak, Signia Hearing, ReSound, and Oticon.

There is plenty of talk about the use of AI, new features and some impressive-sounding claims. But what does it actually mean for you?

Over the next few days, we will try to cut through the jargon and pick out the key features and benefits you might actually notice in everyday life — including a few genuine world firsts!

And remember, the newest hearing aid isn’t necessarily the right one for you. Understanding your hearing, your lifestyle and what you want to achieve is where a good Audiologist makes a difference.

🎄 We are really not talking about Christmas yet… are we?

It’s now only 99 days until Christmas! Yes, we know. You’ve barely got your summer clothes back in the wardrobe and we are already mentioning the C word. Sorry. 😬

But there is one reason we are bringing it up this early…

Because if you have been putting off doing something about your hearing, now is actually a great time to do it.

There has been a lot of excitement recently about new hearing aid technology, with several of the major manufacturers launching devices featuring AI as a major part of the story.

And we absolutely should be excited about better technology.

But here’s something that matters even more:

The next few weeks are set to be very interesting for the hearing care industry, with several of the world’s biggest hearing aid manufacturers unveiling major new technology.

Signia Hearing, Oticon, Phonak and ReSound — Four major manufacturers. Four very different approaches. And some seriously impressive advances in what modern hearing aids can do.

From increasingly sophisticated AI and sound processing, to better speech understanding in noise, smarter adaptation to the listening environment and even more seamless connectivity — hearing technology continues to move at an incredible pace.

And the really exciting bit?

We’ll be getting our hands on this technology and putting it through its paces.

⚽🦻This September sees the launch of the Ipswich Town Foundation's Beyond Labels – Deaf & Hearing Loss Football, creating a safe, welcoming environment where children and adults with hearing loss can enjoy the beautiful game.

Hearing loss should never be a barrier to making friends, building confidence or taking part in sport, so it's brilliant to see opportunities like this being created here in Suffolk.

Whatever your hearing impairment, football has the power to bring people together.
