Amy’s Day Care is committed to provide a safe, comfortable, friendly and stimulating day care service, largely aimed at the over 65’s who may be becoming isolated or housebound

At Amy’s we understand that living with such things as dementia, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s, acquired brain injuries, mental health problems and simple old age can be isolating and distressing fo

r both the individual and the people who care for them. The rural nature of north and west cumbria can often add to the difficulties of accessing good local care. Amy’s offers care focused on respecting the individual encouraging their independence, rights, choices and promoting activity. At Amy’s we understand how important it is to get away from it all; however we also understand that when caring for a mentally or physically disabled member of the family this is a daunting if not impossible dream. Nestled in the middle of a traditional Cumbrian fell village Amy’s Care has developed a beautiful holiday home complete with disabled facilities which is available to hire with, or without, care. With fully qualified staff available to attend the property to help with any care needed and day care already offered within the village Amy’s can facilitate a holiday for all the family.

It’s all about getting out and about! They let us glide across the finish line at the Lakeland Trail event on Sunday (we raised a cheer, but my passenger explained he used to be a sprinter and hurdler, not a long distance fell runner…) - and the music was fabulous!

Two Calvert Stables ponies came to visit us at Keswick Museum’s Tuesday’ Tonic today - but they weren’t up to giving rides really, so the Amy's Care trishaw was still put to good use - two fabulous trips along the railway path, enjoying the admiration of all those who marvel at us gliding past, wind in our hair and regal wave at the ready!

Registration is still open for our iconic annual Sunbeams September Stroll on Sunday 6th September, and we can't wait to welcome familiar faces and first-time walkers alike.

Enjoy a glorious stroll through the beautiful Lakeland countryside, share plenty of smiles along the way, and reward yourself with delicious cream scones at the finish or half way point.

Sunday 6th September at 1pm there's a sponsored stroll along the Keswick-Threlkeld railway line for and with Sunbeams music therapy group! This is near Rheged in Penrith, and Amy's Care used to take trips there, for fantastically fun music and singing sessions.
