We really enjoyed this gig

Thank you to the band for being awesome.

I used to really dislike speaking or performing in public, but breathwork has been a game-changer in helping me manage stage fright and step outside my comfort zone.

In the pause between breaths, tension gives way to truth.

Like the archer releasing without force, or the spine lengthening without effort, the power is in the letting go. 🌬️🎯

I love the book zen in the art of archery. It has some fantastic insights and a lovely story about a man’s search for peace and the power of breathwork.

Loved hosting this breathwork masterclass at House Social for Mental Health Awareness Week.
Mental well-being is so deeply connected to how we hold ourselves and how we breathe. We looked at the fundamentals of Alexander Technique and Breathwork, and the journey was a gentle reminder of how much power lies in simply paying attention and finding peace.

Swipe through to join us on this process of ‘un-learning’ bad habits.
* Slide 1: Arriving at House Social. Setting the intention.
* Slide 2-5: Laying the foundation. First exercises in somatic awareness and spinal alignment.
* Slide 6-8: Small shifts, big impact. Refining the posture with gentle guidance.
* Slide 9-11: Letting the breath lead. Integrating conscious breathing with subtle movement.
* Slide 12-14: Tuning in. Group exercises on effortless poise.
* Slide 15-17: Deep floor-work. The final phase of relaxation and integration.
* Slide 18-20: Connection, release, and the lasting effects. We left feeling lighter, calmer, and more present.

This workshop carried a very special meaning for me. I spent a significant amount of time in the hospital as a child recovering from a stroke, this weekend was a massive full-circle moment. I want to send a heartfelt thank you to the incredibly kind nurses, doctors, and hospital staff who supported me throughout my recovery and helped me get back to doing what I love.

Huge thanks also to the House Social team for the flawless hosting, and to everyone who showed up for themselves this weekend. You were wonderful.
Missed this workshop? We’re already planning the next one! DM us ‘BACKBONE’ to be added to the priority list.

Do you work for the NHS or the Emergency Services? I am teaching a breathwork masterclass in Manchester on Saturday 16 May designed to help people with stressful jobs.

This is a new course that I created after seeing very close friends who worked in the NHS and Emergency Services who were struggling with stress and feeling overwhelmed.

Since I started my company we have provided training at no charge to NHS and Emergency Services because so many people benefit from learning skills to help them to let go of stress and tension.

You will learn how to reset after a stressful day at work, how to do the “whispered ah” and box breathing along with other useful skills to improve posture and reduce back pain.

The training includes a complementary tea and coffee.

Spaces are limited so please direct message me to book your place.

Most of us are running on autopilot, rushing from task to task, and carrying that tension into our bodies. But as F.M. Alexander discovered: if you stop doing the wrong thing, the right thing starts to do itself.

True breathwork isn’t about adding more tension or “forcing” a deep breath. It’s about removing the obstacles that stop you from breathing naturally.
Ready to get out of your own way?

I have created a new breathwork course, type “breath” in comments below.

Ice used to be a hard no for me. I really did not like the cold. The change in temperature made me feel ill and everything in me wanted to get out.

What changed was learning how to breathe through it, and bringing in what I have learned from the Alexander Technique.

Instead of fighting the experience, I started listening to it.

Breathwork has given me a way to stay with discomfort, to regulate my stress, and to build resilience in a way that calm and ground.

This is why I created my online breathwork course, which I am launching in May. It began when a close friend of mine was feeling overwhelmed and struggling with stress. I wanted to help, and it slowly became something much bigger. It has truly been a labour of love.

I am opening it up to founding members who will get early access, extra online lessons, and some special discounts as a thank you for being part of it from the beginning.

I would love for you to be part of this. Founding members spaces are limited.

Really excited about leading this 30 minute walking and running workshop. This is followed by and conversational pace 3.5k jog in tatton park.

We will be doing some stretches and games to improve balance and posture. Have some breathwork planned to help open up the lungs and let go of tension.

Book the workshop on the app or direct message me if you are attending the conversational pace jog. The workshop is £5. The run is free and open to everyone.

I am delighted to be working with Malcolm Balk on this running workshop in Tatton park on 9th March 2026. 10am-4pm.

Malcolm is a well-known Level 4 running coach and still competes in his veteran category. (Age group Canadian half marathon champion in 2011 and 2012. In 2017 he was the Canadian indoor champion at 1500m In 2020 he was ranked 13th in the world at 3000m indoors. That same year, he set 4 provincial records in distances from 400m to 3000m.

Malcolm Balk is the author of two books: Master the Art of Running and Master the Art of Working Out.

The art of running is to be found in the process – in the act itself. The past doesn’t matter, it’s the next step that counts.
