What a fabulous workshop weekend!

We’ve had a lovely weekend creating our pumpkin appliqué tote bags at .

Lots of fabric, stitching, experimenting, chatting and, as you can see, a little creative chaos! 🧵✂️

And that’s exactly how we like it!

It’s never about perfect stitches or perfect finished makes. It’s about having a go, enjoying the process, making time for ourselves and connecting with others.

Wonky stitches always welcome! 💜

Thank you to everyone who joined me this weekend.

🎄 Look out later this week for our Christmas workshop dates!

Would you like to see more opportunities at to talk about mental health and everyday wellbeing?

I’ve been thinking about creating more space for the things we often end up talking about anyway — the messy, practical, human stuff.

Things like overwhelm, motivation, routines, energy, getting unstuck, self-kindness, neurodiversity, and the reality of just trying to human.

I’m an Occupational Therapist, so a lot of what I bring comes from looking at how our mental health affects everyday life — what we need to do, want to do, and the things that help us feel more like ourselves.

It won’t be lectures, jargon or “10 ways to fix your life.”

It won’t be telling people what they should be doing.

It won’t be pretending there’s one right way to cope, organise yourself, feel better or get through a difficult patch.

It will be practical, informed and human — space for useful information, real conversation, reflection and sharing ideas that might help things make a little more sense.

I’m thinking about what this could look like in person at , as well as what I share here.

So I’d really love to know:

Would you be interested in coming along to an informal conversation or event around mental health and everyday wellbeing?

And are there particular topics you’d like us to explore together?

If that sounds like something you might come to, pop a comment below or send me a message — even just “I’d be interested” is enough.

Hearing from you would really help me work out what people would actually find useful, and what might be worth creating next.

“ gives me the hug I didn’t know I needed.”

Someone said this about and it stayed with me.

I haven’t been around as much this year, and in some ways I feel like I’m still finding my way back into the rhythm of the space and everything it has meant to people.

So I’d really love your help.

If has meant something to you — whether you’ve come to a group, had an individual session, joined a workshop, popped in for a cuppa, or simply followed along from afar — I’d love to know:

What does mean to you?

How does it feel?
What do you value about it?
What keeps you coming back?
What makes it different?

I’m hoping your words will help me reconnect with the magic of what we’ve created together — and help me shape what comes next.

You can comment below, send me a message, or just share a few words if that’s easier.

I’ve been enjoying adding some decorative stitching to this little pumpkin, ready to share some inspiration at our upcoming Pumpkin Appliqué Workshop! 🎃🪡

Hand stitching is one of my favourite mindful creative activities. There’s something so lovely about slowing down, getting lost in the stitches and watching something come together.

But what I love just as much is sharing that joy with others, helping you discover new skills, build your confidence and feel inspired to carry on creating at home.

Because creativity isn’t about perfection… it’s about enjoying the process
and the magic benefit it has for our health and wellbeing 💜

Still spaces please message to book!

🎃 A little bit of autumn creativity is coming to … 🧵🍂

I’m running a couple of Autumn Appliqué Tote Bag Workshops this October, and I’d love you to join me.

We’ll spend a couple of hours slowing things down, playing with gorgeous autumnal fabrics and creating your own appliqué pumpkin on a canvas tote bag.

Absolutely no sewing experience needed. This isn’t about perfect stitches or everyone going home with an identical bag — wonky stitches are VERY welcome! ❤️

🍂 Saturday 24 October | 6:30–8:30pm
🍂 Sunday 25 October | 10:30am–12:30pm

£25 per person — your canvas tote, all materials, tea & coffee and plenty of help from me are included.

And yes… the picture is an AI-created promotional image because, in typical Nikky fashion, I’ve organised the workshop before I’ve actually finished making my example! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Mine is a work in progress and I’ll share the real thing as soon as it’s finished. The picture gives you the idea, but your fabric choices and finished pumpkin will be completely your own. 🎃

Spaces are limited and booking is essential — just drop me a message if you’d like to com 💜

Hi everyone; it’s time for my yearly holibobs.
This time sadly we won’t be having our meet ups while I am away.
So the next creative chats will be on Monday 28th and Wednesday 30th September 💜

It’s been a little while… 💜

Over the past few months I’ve been thinking about all the things we carry.

Work.
Family.
Responsibilities.
Relationships.
The things we enjoy.
The things we want to make time for.

The truth is…

We can’t carry everything all the time.

Sometimes we have to put things on the shelf.

Not because they no longer matter.

Not because we’ve failed.

Simply because life has asked for our attention somewhere else.

Putting something on the shelf isn’t the same as letting it go forever.

Sometimes it’s about creating space for this season.

Sometimes it’s recognising that our capacity has changed.

Sometimes it’s accepting that, for now, something else simply has to come first.

If you’ve been carrying guilt for something you’ve had to put down, perhaps this is your reminder…

The shelf isn’t failure.

It’s a place to leave something safely until you’re ready to pick it up again.

Whatever you’ve had to put on the shelf…

I hope you know it’s okay 💜

What does actually look like week to week?

After a little break from posting, I thought I’d share a few small snapshots of what has looked like recently.

As an Occupational Therapist, I’m very passionate about helping people find ways to keep doing the activities they love — or the ones they need to do.

Recently that has looked like…

Supporting someone to find practical ways of conserving energy at home.
Sharing small tips and tricks.
Meeting a human “humanning” with chronic illness with compassion and understanding.

Supporting someone to rediscover their love of creating again.
Offering gentle ideas to help them reintroduce it — slowly and without pressure.

And giving myself time to get lost in some stitching…
a quiet way to calm my own mind and body when things feel a little more whirry.

Just a few examples of over the last week 🤍

Small steps, gentle support, and making space for people to be human.
