Transitional services sit at one of the most important, and often most uncertain, points in a person's rehabilitation journey.

At Healing Touch Rehab, we support children and young adults through the transition between services, settings and stages of life, ensuring that rehabilitation remains consistent, coordinated and focused on long-term goals throughout.

Our integrated neurological rehabilitation service works with individuals living with a wide range of conditions affecting both the central and peripheral nervous systems. This includes:
πŸ”Ή Acquired brain injury and recent or long-term stroke
πŸ”Ή Spinal cord injury and poly-trauma
πŸ”Ή Cerebral palsy, childhood disabilities and birth injuries
πŸ”Ή Vestibular disorders, including dizziness and balance difficulties
πŸ”Ή Peripheral neuropathies
πŸ”Ή Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis
πŸ”Ή Post-amputation rehabilitation
πŸ”Ή Other long-term neurological conditions

Whatever the diagnosis, our focus is the same: understanding each individual's needs, strengths and goals, and building a rehabilitation programme around them that adapts as their life and circumstances change.

Our Founder and Clinical Director, Kay Ganguly, will be speaking at a free webinar on 25th September, hosted by Made for Movement United Kingdom πŸ’™

The session focuses on paediatric early intervention and the legal safeguarding considerations surrounding children with acquired brain injuries. Kay will be exploring the relationship between rehabilitation, early intervention and safeguarding, and the role that clinicians play in recognising and mitigating avoidable harm for children with complex disabilities.

The webinar is designed to bring professionals together for discussion and shared learning across healthcare, rehabilitation, case management and legal services. It runs 12–1pm and is free to attend.

For many people living with neurological conditions, difficulties with walking and movement are among the most significant challenges they face day to day.

Conditions such as cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, stroke and peripheral neuropathies frequently affect gait i.e. the way a person stands, moves and walks. When gait is impacted, so is independence, confidence and quality of life.

Our team offers comprehensive biomechanical and gait assessment, looking carefully at the forces, movements and patterns involved in how each individual moves. Where appropriate, this includes orthotic assessment to explore whether ankle-foot orthoses, specialist footwear or other supports could make a meaningful difference to function and comfort.

We work closely with an established network of clinical orthotists to ensure that every client receives joined-up, expert care from assessment through to recommendation and beyond.

If you'd like to find out more about our gait analysis and orthotic assessment services, get in touch at [email protected] or call 0113 548 2865 πŸ“©

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can share is the experience of someone who has been through it themselves πŸ’™

πŸ’¬ "If only I had picked up the phone and called the vestibular service two years earlier, I could have saved myself years of fear, frustration, and isolation. The dizziness made me lose my confidence and kept me trapped at home, and I was told nothing could be done about it. The support and treatment I've received have given me a new sense of freedom, even if I still have to live with the condition."
- Chris Beevers, Client

Vestibular rehabilitation won't always eliminate symptoms entirely, but for many people it can make a real and lasting difference to daily life, restoring confidence in movement and reducing the impact of dizziness and imbalance.

If you or someone you support is experiencing dizziness, balance difficulties or vestibular symptoms, please do get in touch.

Occupational therapy is about the everyday activities, routines and moments that give life meaning and independence πŸ’™

Our occupational therapy team works with children and adults living with the effects of neurological conditions, including stroke, brain injury and spinal cord impairments. Every programme we develop is tailored to the individual, grounded in evidence, and focused on the functional goals that matter most to them and their family.

We work wherever is right for the client: at home, in school, in the community, or at our clinic. Because occupational therapy that connects to real life, in real environments, is occupational therapy that makes a lasting difference.

Our approach is genuinely collaborative. We work closely alongside case managers, family members, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure that rehabilitation is joined up, consistent and always focused on meaningful functional progress. The people around a client are part of the process, not separate from it.

We are delighted to introduce Harry Davies, the newest member of the Healing Touch Rehab team

Harry joins us as a Chartered Physiotherapist, bringing with him a genuine passion for helping people regain their independence and improve their quality of life through evidence-based, person-centred neurological rehabilitation.

Before qualifying as a Physiotherapist, Harry spent over a decade working in personal training, supporting clients with disabilities, exercise prescription, movement and long-term health management. This wealth of experience has shaped his compassionate, holistic approach to rehabilitation, recognising that every person's journey is unique and that meaningful progress comes from understanding the individual behind the diagnosis

We have taken a moment this month to pause and reflect on how far Healing Touch Rehab has come in 2026 πŸ’™

It has been a year of real growth: we've welcomed new team members, launched incredible new services, including Music Therapy and Sensory Integration Occupational Therapy. Our Expert Witness practice has continued to develop and our Paediatric Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation Centre has welcomed families from across the region who have placed an enormous amount of trust in us.

What stays with us most, though, goes beyond our own achievements: watching a child take a new step, and seeing what that moment means to their family, is something that never loses its significance and reminds us why we provide this service.

We are also looking ahead to October and our Collaboration in Rehabilitation Conference, which feels like a fitting way to close out a year that has been shaped so much by the strength of the relationships and partnerships around us.

We have shared a fuller reflection in our latest blog. Link below πŸ‘‡

Families who come to Healing Touch Rehab bring more than a referral or a report. They bring love, determination, and often a long history of trying to find the right support for their child β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Our centre was built in direct response to the gap that exists in the North of England for local, intensive and truly comprehensive paediatric rehabilitation. We wanted to create somewhere that families didn't have to travel far to reach, and didn't have to fight hard to access.

Everything about how we work, the way we design programmes, the way we communicate with families, the way our team collaborates, reflects a belief that the people we serve deserve more than clinical competence alone. They deserve to feel genuinely supported, seen and understood throughout the process.

We are proud to be that place for the families and young people we work with. And we are committed to remaining it.
