Celebrating Our Long Service Colleagues.

Over recent weeks, MMPS has been delighted to celebrate colleagues from across LTHT who have reached significant milestones in their continuous NHS service.

These events recognised the commitment, professionalism and dedication shown by our teams over many years, while also acknowledging colleagues whose awards had been delayed from previous years.

It was fantastic to come together to celebrate these achievements and thank colleagues for the invaluable contribution they continue to make to our patients, services and each other.

MMPS Take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge! ⛰️

A huge well done to our staff who took on the 3 Peaks Challenge on the 20th June.

With support and words of encouragement, the team completed the challenge in less that 12 hours and have raised over £1500 for Leeds Hospital Charities!

Eid Mubarak to all staff, patients and visitors at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust who are celebrating Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, over the coming days ✨

Eid al-Adha commemorates Prophet Abraham's devotion and willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to a command from God. To mark the occasion, Muslims gather at the Mosque for morning prayers, dress in their best clothes, give to charity, and thank Allah for their blessings.

This week we are marking Insulin Safety Week at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Insulin is one of the top 10 high risk medicines and unfortunately errors are common.

The 6Rs of insulin safety are designed to prevent medication errors:

- Right Device
- Right Way

Congratulations to the Respiratory Pharmacy Team who won Supporting Team of the Year at the Cardio-Respiratory Awards Night on Saturday! 🏆

The team were recognised and celebrated for the pivotal service they provide to the department and a snippet of the information supporting the teams nomination can be read below:

"The Respiratory Pharmacy Team is highly reflective of the Trust's 7 Commitments, particularly with teamwork, whereby we support each other and act with kindness and compassion and continue to support the wider Respiratory Team and CSU. We also show significant compassion to our patients, as well as work hard to be sustainable and cost-effective when delivering exceptional patient care.

We have continued to work hard to improve patient outcomes, such as our technician-led inhaler technique service by ensuring patients are on the correct devices and ensuring device consistency to reduce exacerbations and in turn hospital admissions and wastage of devices."

An amazing achievement, and a true asset to MMPS 👏🏻
