One of the most special moments since While Opticians joined forces with Henry Smith & Hamylton 🥹

Today I had the privilege of examining the eyes of our eldest patient, Chris, who is an incredible 100 years young. His positivity, stories and sense of humour absolutely made my day, despite being registered partially sighted.

Chris came to see us after struggling with sore eyes for some time, so we treated him to a ZEST treatment to get his eyes feeling comfortable and refreshed again — along with a brand new pair of spectacles 👓

Moments like this are a reminder of why we do what we do. It’s not just about eyesight, it’s about caring for people and helping them continue enjoying life comfortably at every age. That’s why addressing and managing dry eye problems at any age is vital.

👁️ During one of our final eye examinations at While Opticians on Belvoir Street, Hass had the privilege of seeing one of our longest-standing patients, Pat. She shared stories from several decades of how much this practice has meant to her throughout her life.

🕰️ Since 1868, While Opticians has been built on relationships like these — something that won’t change as we begin a new chapter.

We’re delighted to share we'll be joining forces with Henry Smith and Hamylton (est. 1887) on Horsefair Street, continuing our legacy while expanding what we can offer.

Pat's enthusiasm was a lovely reminder that while the location may change, the care, trust, and community we’ve built remain the same.

Today, we turn the page to an exciting new chapter at While Opticians.

Since 1868, our practice has been filled with care, connection, and generations of loyal patients. We are incredibly proud of the memories made there and deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of our story.
Now, we’re looking ahead with real excitement.

We’re delighted to be joining forces with Henry Smith and Hamilton (est. 1887) on Horsefair Street — just around the corner, but a big step forward. Together, we combine a rich heritage with fresh energy, allowing us to bring you an even higher level of personalised eye care.

This move opens the door to so much more for our patients:
• Clinics available from Tuesday-Saturday 9:00-5:30pm
• An enhanced Dry Eye Clinic with advanced treatment options
• Specialist contact lenses for even the most complex needs
• Dedicated myopia management for children and young adults
• An expanded, carefully curated eyewear collection from around the world
• And plenty more to come

While we say goodbye to Belvoir Street, we do so with optimism and enthusiasm for what lies ahead on Horsefair Street.
