As we love to say here at VASK Therapy: Feel the feeling until the feeling doesn't need to be felt anymore!

Growth takes time, but when you learn to go with the flow, you truly learn how to fly easy. ✨

Do you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or panicked around open water?
* Fear of deep water
* Fear of what lies beneath
* Panic when you can't see the bottom
* Feeling trapped or out of control in the water

You are not alone.

Join us for a unique and supportive experience designed to help you understand and transform your relationship with water.

In collaboration with Pillaton, VASK Therapy, and Anna Newman of Expansion Breath & Sound, this specialist session will be guided by Victoria Ann Spencer-Kibble using HypnoBreath Therapy techniques in a safe and welcoming environment.

Combining the power of hypnotherapy and conscious connected breathing, this immersive experience helps you work with both the mind and body. Hypnotherapy can help uncover and reframe the subconscious beliefs, memories, and associations that may be contributing to your fear of water, while creating new pathways for calm, confidence, and self-trust. By accessing a deeply relaxed state, participants can begin to shift automatic fear responses and develop a greater sense of ease around water.

Anna brings her expertise in Conscious Connected Breathing, helping participants gently explore and release stored patterns of fear, anxiety, and trauma responses held within the body. Through guided breathwork, you'll discover how conscious breathing can regulate the nervous system, create a greater sense of safety, and support emotional resilience—both in and out of the water.

Together, these approaches offer a powerful opportunity to understand your fear from a different perspective, reconnect with your inner resources, and experience the water with greater confidence, freedom, and calm.

Discover practical tools to:
✓ Reduce anxiety around water
✓ Build confidence and trust
✓ Understand and calm your body's fear response
✓ Release limiting patterns and emotional tension
✓ Develop a greater sense of control and inner calm
✓ Learn techniques you can use long after the session
✓ Take positive steps towards enjoying open water

Whether your fear stems from a past experience, uncertainty about what lies beneath the surface, or a feeling of being out of control, this session offers a compassionate space to explore those feelings and discover a new way forward.

There’s a moment I witness often on board.

A passenger pauses at the aircraft door…
Taking in the unfamiliar environment…
Trying to process what comes next.

As a Flight Attendant Therapist, and with personal experience of supporting a parent living with Alzheimer’s disease, I’ve learned to recognise these subtle cues.

The hesitation.
The overwhelm.
The quiet need for reassurance.

I’ll often say gently,
“Let me walk you down the aisle.”
And in that simple moment, something shifts.

Because for many elderly passengers, particularly those experiencing memory loss, flying isn’t just physical travel.

It’s a sensory and emotional experience that can feel disorientating.
What they need most isn’t instruction.
It’s calm.
Presence.
Safety.

In those short walks to their seat, I’ve been trusted with the most incredible life stories, a reminder that every passenger carries a lifetime within them.

If you’re supporting an elderly parent…
Or feeling unsure about how they’ll cope with flying…
You’re not alone.

With the right support, the experience can feel softer, calmer, and far more manageable.

A regulated nervous system changes everything. 🌿

Real courage isn’t the absence of fear, it’s feeling the depth of that fear and choosing not to let it trap you anyway.

This beautiful review reminds us that anxiety is rarely simple. When it's tied to loss, it tells us that we aren't safe.

But the mind and body can re-learn safety. This incredibly brave soul conquered a massive flight and reclaimed their joy.

They flew home with a lighter heart and a transformed life. I am so deeply proud.

To be truly seen, heard, and acknowledged… changes everything 🤍✈️

As a Flight Attendant and Therapist, I’m always aware that what people need most isn’t just instruction… It’s a connection.

Recently, I’ve been learning British Sign Language, something deeply personal to me, as my husband, Stewart, is deaf.

And recently onboard, that learning became something meaningful.

I communicated with a passenger using BSL, and in that moment, you could feel a shift.

Because when someone feels noticed…
when they feel seen…
when they feel acknowledged and understood…

The body responds.
Shoulders soften…
Breathing deepens…
The nervous system begins to settle…

She shared that she had never experienced that level of personal connection on a flight before.

And it’s a reminder of something important:
Calm doesn’t always come from information.
It comes from feeling safe… and feeling understood.

And as you read this now, you may notice your own body softening at the very idea.

That’s the space we created in the air, language barrier lifted, connection felt and acknowledged.

Smiles in the aisles shared, as she felt seen, she felt she mattered, she felt heard for the first time whilst flying.

Her flight anxiety didn’t stand a chance.

Phobias can feel like they’re in the driver's seat, but they don't have to be.

I loved working with this client to help them reclaim their confidence before bee and wasp season truly kicks in.

My approach at VASK Therapy is simple:

🌿 Listen to your history.

🌿 Identify the subconscious trigger.

🌿 Empower you with the tools you need

A powerful and important reminder from a recent flight—progress is not always linear.

A passenger boarded successfully despite experiencing intense anticipatory anxiety in the weeks leading up to travel.

This in itself is a significant achievement. It really is.

However, once onboard, the physiological symptoms of panic were overwhelming and immediate.

Despite attempts to manage the anxiety, the time available before departure was not sufficient to allow the nervous system to regulate. The passenger made the decision to disembark.

And this is important:
That decision is not failure—it is self-awareness.

In conversation, it became clear this individual had already made major life changes, including leaving controlling environments and beginning a new chapter.

The fear of flying was not an isolated issue, but part of a wider pattern of control, safety, and emotional processing.

Fear of flying is rarely just about flying.

It is layered, complex, and deeply personal.

Boarding the aircraft is often the biggest step—and this passenger achieved that.
The next step will come.

With the right support, tools, and understanding of how the nervous system responds to perceived threat, this is absolutely something that can be overcome.

As cabin crew, we are there not only for safety, but to support, reassure, and guide passengers through these moments.

If today isn’t the day, it doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t be.

Today wasn’t the day… and that’s okay.

Step into the calm. 🕯️✨

There is a specific kind of magic that happens in this room before the doors even open. The mats are out, the lighting is soft, and the air is ready for us to fill it with intention.

If your week has been loud, fast-paced, or overwhelming, consider this your official invitation to press pause.

In our HypnoBreaths session this Thursday 28th May, we aren’t just "breathing"—we are:
✨ Decompressing the nervous system.
✨ Clearing mental fog.
✨ Giving the body permission to finally rest.

Everything is set up and waiting for you. All you have to do is show up as you are.

🎟️ Last few mats remaining for this week. Grab yours before they're gone - https://www.thecoachingretreat.com/service-page/breathwork-with-vicky
