We recently had the honour of looking after a young gentleman whose family wanted his service to be a true reflection of who he was.

With their blessing, and at their request, we are sharing a small part of his story.

The family chose to create something completely unique by personally designing and hand-painting his coffin. Every brushstroke represented the things he loved, his hobbies, passions, and the treasured memories they shared together.

We prepared the chapel to give them the time and space to do this. As music played softly in the background, family and friends gathered to paint, share stories, laugh, reflect, and remember the wonderful person they had lost.

It was a truly beautiful and heartfelt tribute a deeply personal way to honour his life and create lasting memories together.

Thank you to the family for allowing us to be part of such a special moment and for giving us permission to share this unique act of love.

Personalising a funeral service is an important part of honouring a loved one’s life and creating a meaningful farewell.

Over the years, we have been asked to arrange coloured smoke displays to mark a final journey. Whether it is a loved one’s favourite colour, the colours of their favourite football team, a vibrant shade that reflects their personality, or the colours of a local rugby club they proudly represented, these special touches can create a truly memorable tribute.

Safety is always our priority, and we ensure that all necessary health and safety requirements are met when arranging smoke displays as part of a funeral service.

On some occasions, local police have even assisted by temporarily closing roads, allowing family and friends to safely gather and witness this unique and heartfelt tribute.

Every life is unique, and we are honoured to help families create personal farewells that reflect the individual being remembered.

What happens to floral tributes after the service?

For burial services, floral tributes are usually placed on the grave following the funeral.

For cremation services, and in some burial circumstances when the family would like floral tributes back, there are several options available for families to choose from.

At Jukes Funeral Services, we ensure that the following are discussed with the family, as options for the floral tributes:

• Left on display at the crematorium with the name display stand
• Taken to the wake and displayed on a memory table
• Placed on a family burial plot
• Carefully broken down and donated to a local hospice or nursing home
• Preserved and transformed into keepsakes for family members to cherish

We will always discuss the available options with you and help ensure your loved one’s floral tributes are handled in a way that feels most meaningful to your family.

Meet Lenny, our little helper 🐾🤍

Lenny has been part of the Jukes Team since he was just 8 weeks old… and now he’s 6 years old! Over the years, he has brought comfort, love, and reassurance to so many families when they need it most.

With his gentle and calming presence, Lenny is always there to welcome you through the funeral home doors, sit quietly beside families while funeral wishes are discussed, and wait patiently outside the chapel of rest, ready to offer comfort whenever it’s needed.

He’s become such a special part of the care and support we provide, and families often thank him with treats, cuddles, and sometimes even a little card of his own 🦴💌

We truly couldn’t imagine the Jukes Team without him. 🤍

On Friday, we had the heartbreaking honour of conducting the funeral service for one of our own Jukes family members.

At Jukes Funeral Services, we take great pride in every single loved one’s funeral service we are entrusted with, but this one was especially close to our hearts.

The entire Jukes Team attended to pay their respects, and we were deeply touched and incredibly thankful for the momentary guard of honour arranged in love, respect, and remembrance. It was a truly moving tribute that meant so much to us all.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every member of the Jukes Team, Kerry Jones, the Lichfield and District Crematorium team, and to everyone who attended to show their love and support.

Your kindness, compassion, and respect will never be forgotten.
