With Overdose Awareness Day taking place on 31st of August, it is fast approaching! So we thought we’d share this overdose awareness broadcast on the signs and symptoms of stimulant overdoses.

Many people associate overdose with he**in and other opioids. However, it’s just as important that we also recognise what stimulant overdoses look like, especially as co***ne related overdoses are on the rise.

It's going to be another brilliant event where we'll be on hand to support the delivery of:

➡ Harm reduction advice
➡ Supplying life-saving naloxone
➡ Signposting to other local services, including for those that may want to make a change to their substance use.

We will also be giving out Naloxone at our Message & Memories events 💖

Alongside our outreach, we will be visiting Tonic Health in Spalding on Monday 24th August, holding a Naloxone/overdose awareness drop in session in our our Lincoln Hub on Wednesday 26th August and having a Naloxone training drop in session at Mint Lane, Lincoln on Tuesday 1st September.

We are delighted to announce that we have teamed-up with pharmacies to increase availability of opioid overdosereversal medication, naloxone, across the county! 🙌

Naloxone is a first aid medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It comes in a nasal spray called Nyxoid and is also available in the form of an easy-to-use injection, called Prenoxad.

Lincolnshire Co-op pharmacies have been proactive in their response to an increase in overdoses in the Boston area and recognises the positive impact they can have in supporting communities by providing naloxone.

This year, we’re raising awareness of International Overdose Awareness Day by creating a visible Messages & Memories display.

We’re inviting people across the county to share an anonymous message to honour lives lost, raise awareness and prevent future overdoses. 💜

Each of our Lincolnshire hubs are holding this event in a special location:

Lincoln - Arboretum Tuesday, 25th August
Grantham - St Peters Hill/Guildhall, Monday 24th August
Spalding - Outside of the Spalding office, all week
Gainsborough - Marshalls Yard, TBC
Skegness - Tower Gardens, Wednesday 26th August
Boston - Memory Tree in Boston Hub reception
Market Rasen - New Life Church Centre 27th August

You’re welcome to grab a card from reception or pop over to the chosen location of your local hub and leave your message on display to remember those affected by overdose. 🙌

We're excited to say that we'll once again be at Lincoln Pride this year! 🙌🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

It's going to be another brilliant celebration of diversity and inclusion. 💖 We'll be spending the day at our stall, giving out harm reduction advice and chatting to visitors about Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership and the services we offer.
