No son or daughter should feel they can't take a holiday because they're worried about leaving their parent.

For three years, Tracey didn't.

After a disappointing experience with another care provider, she didn't feel able to leave her mum, Valerie. The worry was simply too great.

For many of the people we support, travelling to Antarctica simply isn't possible.

Until now...

Introducing Quartz Travel Club ✈️

Our newest wellbeing initiative uses immersive virtual reality to take the people we support on unforgettable journeys around the world, experiencing places many never imagined they'd visit.

Our first boarding pass? Antarctica 🇦🇶

As curious penguins waddled across the ice and dived into crystal-clear waters, something lovely happened.

💜 Every client smiled.

😊 Some laughed.

🐧 One simply said,
"I loved them."

For one client, who is housebound, it was an opportunity to experience a part of the world she would otherwise never have the chance to see.

At Quartz Care, we believe great home care is about so much more than meeting practical needs.

It's about creating moments of joy, sparking conversations, inspiring curiosity and proving that adventure doesn't have to stop just because life changes.

"Quartz made me realise I'd never found the right place to work." 💜

Gemma has worked in care for more than 20 years.

When she joined Quartz in November 2023, she came for a Field Care Supervisor role.

Today, she's our Registered Manager.

What made the difference?

"Our MD, Fearn, saw the potential in me, trusted me, supported me and gave me the freedom to lead. That trust meant a lot."

Gemma has always wanted to become a Registered Manager, but says previous employers never made her feel she wanted to lead their organisation.

Quartz was different.

"Staff aren't just a number to us and clients aren't just a package. We genuinely care about both."

When asked what keeps her here, her answer wasn't about job titles.

It was about people.

"I enjoy developing staff, helping people progress in their careers and creating a positive culture where everyone feels valued and supported."

That was Elsie's only request.

When Diana visited her last Saturday, Elsie asked if they could take a photo together.

Not for Facebook.

Not for a newsletter.

She simply wanted Diana to send it to our Managing Director, Fearn, with a message...

"Tell her I said hello."

It probably tells you everything you need to know about Quartz.

As we've grown, we've worked hard not to lose what makes us different.

Our carers know our clients.

Every new member of our team has their own reason for choosing a career in care.

Harshvarden is studying nursing and wanted to develop his skills while making a real difference to people's lives.

When we asked why he chose Quartz, his answer was refreshingly simple:
