Oh hey there shame, I missed ya x

Hopefully you can see the thread that is woven throughout this post - shame belongs because we are all desperate for connection. It came with us through evolution, so therefore I believe it is important.

Toxic shame is where the funky s**z starts happening.
To loosen the grip of shame, you must be seen in it - you must give it a voice.

Can you say to someone, to me even or in the comments!! - ‘hey you know what, I really need you to like me’ or ‘i actually desperately want to be desired’ ‘i am loud, annoying, i take up space and it’s okay that i am too much for some people’

Your shadows all hold shame, or else they wouldn’t be there.

Come and explore the half of you that you reject, my 1:1 sessions are open♥️

YAYYYYY celebrating me so harddd!! And then even harder because I went into a process like 5 mins after the workshop dancing with my shadows (you’ll see soon😂)

Reflections from some of the women:

🥀 aliveness through movement - “maybe I just need to lay on the ground -> no, this feels good. I feel alive again” & “to witness myself was so nice, I look so beautiful, I’m so proud”

🥀 reconnecting to self - “I was crying, I seen myself again” “I was just saying I’m here, you are so capable, I’ve got you and I love you”

🥀 wholeness - “i’m sitting with all parts of myself, and learning to love them. Yes there are some favourites, but I can’t banish the others”

🥀 confidence - “im going to spend time focusing on me” “to be alive is something within that needs to come out”

There was pride, pleasure, play, meeting edges. We moved, grooved, slowed down, laughed, cried and experienced ourselves differently.

Such a fu***ng honour, thank you.

PS if you wanna be the first to know when Deliciously Alive 2.0 is coming out comment ‘alive’ or head to the link in my bio🤪🥳🧚💃🏽

She deleted her comment so my reel disappeared but this message is still important:

Let me make this very clear. Just because you perceive, assume and project onto someone who you think they are, and what they can/do feel - does not make it true, nor fact.

Growing up an elite gymnast meant I endured both emotional neglect, body shaming and physical abuse (not being punched, but being pushed to perform whilst severely injured). From the age of 5 until 12…I was a CHILD.

I had food taken off me, I was told I was fat, I was weighed every week. You knew I had been on bars because my blood was wrapped around them. I was made to compete through an injury and only got told to get it checked out when I couldn’t actually stand - it was a fractured bone. The memory of crying my eyes out whilst my coach pushed me in my splits saying ‘oh, I’ve been mean to you today haven’t I’ fu***ng haunts me.

The adult you see now is someone who still has work through guilt and shame around eating, that has to constantly tend to her relationship with exercise, who has only just realised through training belly dance, how much I constantly suck my belly in. It’s someone who learned that she couldn’t depend on people, that how she felt was irrelevant.

Do I think I have it harder than others? Nope. Lots of us have funky relationships to our bodies, our appearances and I’m sure that lots of others have been through much worse. But that doesn’t minimise my story.

Just because you think I’m conventionally attractive doesn’t mean you know my relationship to my body or my appearance.

And this doesn’t just go for my story. How do you place your own s**t onto someone else and label it as fact without knowing them? How do you place someone in a box because of who you think they are, instead of who they actually are?

I’m not asking you to feel sorry for me, I’m highlighting that you need to stop assuming you know someone when you don’t.

Anyway lil Mils, I love you - keep fu***ng going💚

Social media sells always loving yourself. I call big phat bullcrap on it. You’re a human, of COURSE you’re going to wake up some days absolutely hating yourself.

Here’s my take as a shadow work practitioner:

❤️‍🔥 When you wake up thinking ‘f**k I hate myself’ instead of trying to bypass that feeling with ‘ugh no I should love myself’ - meet the part that is feeling funky with compassion, not shame. Say ‘hey you know what, fair. You’re allowed to feel like that right now. Welcome my friend, it’s us today.’
Feeling gross doesn’t mean you are gross.

❤️‍🔥 No amount of changing your body & face is going to make you happy if you haven’t met the parts of you that don’t feel worthy/like yourself. Like f**k yeah change your hair, outfit but when the wounding is underneath no amount of external change will make you happy.

❤️‍🔥 Notice what you actually need. “I feel ugly” is the surface level part speaking, what is underneath? Do you need to be held? Cry? Reassured? Rest? Food? To get out of the fu***ng mirror? To move your body?

❤️‍🔥 Find ways to like yourself that have absolutely f**k all to do with how you look. If your entire foundation of loving yourself is built on your appearance my babbeeee we gunna have some problems. What about how you make people laugh, your weirdness or your chaotic brain?

❤️‍🔥 Stop consuming content that makes you hate yourself and using it as motivation. I know about looksmaxxing and this skinny trend…you actually don’t need to see it. This s**t is probably coming from people who hate themselves. Are you trying to be someone who hates themselves? Probs not babe, remove it and move on.

The more important thing in my opinion is not loving yourself all the time, it’s not abandoning yourself on the days where you don’t love yourself. THAT is hot, sexy, yummy, delicious and fu***ng fantastic.

& if you’re wanting to meet those parts and actually come back into relationship to yourself, this is the exact thing I take women through. My DMs are open gal 💃🏽

I am human. I forget I matter to people, I forget my existence has impact. I get so wrapped up in just being me that I forget actually how that can touch another soul.

You are human. Probably forgetting the same thing.

How you make people laugh, how you make them feel heard or seen. How you’re someones favourite person to cuddle, or talk to. Maybe someone see’s you dancing and singing and goes ‘f**k, maybe I can do that too’.

Like actually, you being you is the most freeing thing you can do for both yourself and for another.

We’re all in the process of remembering who we are, stripping ourselves bare so we can step into what makes us feel alive (the full spectrum - right, not just joy but openness to life).

And in that there will be people who just do not fu***ng get you, who don’t meet you, who project onto you. There will be pain and uncertainty and still, can you stop a moment and just appreciate the messy, beautiful person that you are?
