Meet the teacher - Joanna Roffey - Somatic Yoga

"Joanna teaches Somatic Yoga — a gentle yet deeply effective approach that weaves together somatic movement, yoga, mindfulness, and compassion-based practices to support the body and mind to unwind, rebalance, and restore. Her classes offer a space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and build quiet strength through presence and awareness.

With extensive training in Ashtanga, Yin, and Somatic Yoga, as well as mindfulness, compassion practices, and pranayama (breathwork), Joanna brings a wealth of knowledge and lived experience to her teaching. Drawing on her background in education and mindfulness, she teaches with warmth, clarity, and real-life understanding.

Her classes are calm and nurturing, guiding you to sense your body from within and move with curiosity rather than striving. Each session supports nervous system regulation, releases tension, and restores balance through gentle, embodied movement and rest.

Arrive at Puerto Plata International Airport (POP) on January 15, 2027, and leave the busy everyday life behind as you immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature. This is not a 5 star hotel. Check out the accommodations and location: Ecolodge Tubagua Puerto Plata

Your retreat officially begins on January 16, 2027, and includes daily yoga, guided meditation, mindfulness practices, wellness workshops, art therapy, and nourishing, delicious meals designed to support your overall well-being. The retreat concludes on the afternoon of January 20, 2027, with departures scheduled for mornings on January 21, 2027.

A $300 non-refundable deposit is required by September 1, 2026, to reserve your space. The retreat investment of $2,000 is based on shared accommodations. A limited number of private rooms are available for an additional fee. The remaining balance is due in full byOctober 1, 2026.

Airfare and airport transfers are not included in the retreat price. Optional excursions are also available for additional cost.

Meet our teacher - Amie Connor - Yin Yoga

"Namaste! My name is Amie, and yoga has been pivotal in my life. It has filled my cup time and time again, allowing me to extend that energy to others and their practice.

I teach yoga in a way that honors the roots of the practice. My classes regularly incorporate Pranayama and Dhyana with the support of Asana.

Since I started teaching in 2022, I have become experienced in teaching all-levels in each of my classes, offering options without hierarchy. Come as you are, mind, body and spirit.
