“Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, expertise and experience in such an accessible and interesting way. I really appreciate your compassionate and inclusive approach and the way you challenge an overly medical and pathologised approach to autism and ADHD. Refreshing. Thank you.”

Feedback like this reminds me why I do this work 💛

Supporting psychotherapists to work confidently with neurodivergent clients around s*x, intimacy, and relationships is deeply important to me - because these conversations are too often avoided, misunderstood, or pathologised.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with openness, curiosity, and courage at my recent training.

✨ Next training: August
If you’re a psychotherapist wanting practical, affirming, neurodivergent-informed approaches to s*x and relationships, I would love to welcome you.

💭 My Reflections & Provocations:

🌀 Is it s*xual impulsion… or a monotropic form of stimming?

What if what we often label as compulsive s*xual behavior (CSB) or addiction in autistic individuals is actually a monotropic-style coping mechanism?
A form of emotional or sensory regulation—not pathology?
Can s*xuality become a kind of stim?
Can it be a hyperfocus that soothes or grounds?
Is anyone else in the world asking this?

If you’ve ever experienced s*xuality that way—deeply regulating, deeply consuming—please share.

These are voices we need.

Let’s explore.
Let’s challenge.
Let’s reimagine.

Not all special interests are external. Sometimes we map desire with the same intensity we bring to everything else that matters. - JKL

🧠 Cognitive:
We may analyse patterns of attraction, study emotional dynamics, build inner taxonomies of touch, identity, power.

📚 Intellectual:
Our curiosity might centre on theory—gender, kink, ethics, history, anatomy, queerness—approached with depth, rigour, and awe.

👁️ Experiential / Sensual:
We often seek controlled, immersive engagement. Texture, rhythm, timing. Repetition, ritual, narrative.
Pleasure isn’t impulsive—it’s crafted.

This isn’t dysfunction. It’s a neurodivergent expression of desire—rooted in focus, not deviance.
