What a wonderful day out at Morden Park Hall! ☀️🌿

We enjoyed a lovely walk around the beautiful park before visiting the exhibition, where they admired the wonderful paintings and pictures on display. We also spent time exploring the garden centre, taking in the colourful plants and peaceful surroundings.

To finish the day, everyone relaxed on the café terrace with refreshments, including cappuccinos, sandwiches, and water, while enjoying the sunshine, beautiful weather, and plenty of laughter and conversation.

It was a fantastic day filled with fresh air, friendship, and smiles. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable outing! 💚

Trip to the Houses of Parliament
Our residents had a fantastic trip to the Houses of Parliament, thoroughly enjoying the experience and learning about its history and importance.
They explored Westminster Hall, admired its impressive architecture, and visited the House of Lords, where they learned about its role in the parliamentary process. The group also toured the House of Commons, watching a live session from the public gallery and seeing democracy in action.
Throughout the visit, residents enjoyed viewing historic artwork and learning about key moments in British history. It was a memorable and educational day that everyone truly enjoyed!

Our residents enjoyed a lovely cheese and wine afternoon to celebrate National Cheese Day! Our kitchen provided a wonderful selection of cheeses, along with wine and beer to suit everyone’s tastes.
It was a fantastic evening filled with great flavours, laughter, and plenty of socialising. Everyone had a great time! 🥂

Philippine Independence Day
Our residents took part in the Philippine Independence Day celebration in the Daffodil Lounge and had a wonderful time. They especially enjoyed the music and listening to the Philippine national anthem, beautifully performed by our chefs for residents and staff.
They also enjoyed a themed Filipino lunch, sampling a variety of traditional dishes including noodles and cakes, and were delighted to try something different.
Our residents remained engaged throughout the event and clearly enjoyed both the cultural performances and the delicious food experience. 🎶🍰

Our residents had a wonderful time celebrating International Picnic Day with a delightful picnic lunch alongside the children from Granard Nursery in their beautiful garden. 🧺☀️
The weather was perfect, creating a lovely setting for everyone to relax and enjoy the day together. Our residents truly cherished the opportunity to interact with the children—playing games, watching them sing, and sharing joyful moments full of laughter and smiles. 🎶🎈

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic day getting ready for the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026! The excitement built throughout the day as everyone prepared for the very first match.
On evening club, all came together to watch and celebrate the opening ceremony, creating a lively and social atmosphere. Residents enjoyed drinks, snacks, and great company while sharing their love for football.

Father’s Day Celebration at Ashmead Care Home 💙

We had a wonderful Father’s Day celebration at Ashmead Care Home, filled with joy, laughter, and special moments.

Our gentlemen truly enjoyed the afternoon, especially the fantastic entertainment from Judy, who delighted everyone by playing guitar, leading sing-alongs, and sharing plenty of jokes that kept us all smiling.

There was lots of laughter, socialising, and reminiscing as everyone came together to celebrate. Residents enjoyed a relaxing time with shandy, beer, and tasty snacks, making the day even more special.

A big thank you to Judy for bringing such fun and warmth to our celebration, and to everyone who joined us in making the day memorable.

Keeping Cool at Ashmead Care Home ☀️

With the temperatures rising, we are keeping everyone safe, cool, and refreshed here at Ashmead.

Our tropical mobile beach bar has been travelling around all day, serving a variety of cold drinks, fresh fruit, ice lollies, and ice cream to keep our residents hydrated and smiling.

It has created a lovely summer vibe throughout the home, bringing everyone together to enjoy a refreshing treat and a bit of fun during the heatwave.

Staying hydrated has never looked so colourful!

🎉🎂 Celebrating a Century Plus Three! 🎂🎉

On the 19th May, we had the joy of celebrating Mary’s 103rd birthday! 🎈✨

Surrounded by some family, staff members, and fellow residents, Mary was the star of the day.
To add a sweet touch to this milestone occasion, a beautiful cake was prepared by our chef and Mary was both surprised and in awe of her cake, making the moment even more wholesome.🍰

We partied the afternoon away as we listened to some of Mary's favourite music and there was even a bit of dancing.

Mary's gratitude and her radiant smile remind us all of the wisdom and grace that come with age. Join us in sending Mary the warmest birthday wishes as we cherish this special moment together!
