Breathing more comfortably. Feeling more balanced. A result planned around both function and appearance.
This patient came to Battersea Hospital with difficulty breathing through his left nostril due to a deviated nasal septum, which was also contributing to noticeable asymmetry between his nostrils.
Following a septorhinoplasty performed by Mr Annakan Navaratnam, Consultant ENT Surgeon, the aim was to improve nasal airflow while also creating a more balanced and symmetrical appearance.
Four months after surgery, his nostrils appear more even and, most importantly, he is able to breathe more comfortably through his nose.
For this patient, the journey was about more than how his nose looked. It was about improving everyday comfort, function and confidence.
Thank you to our patient for allowing us to share his clinical photographs and journey.
Considering septorhinoplasty? Book a consultation with our ENT team to discuss your breathing concerns, nasal shape and suitable treatment options.

University life can be tough on your eyes too.
Long hours studying, lots of screen time, and close-up work can all contribute to changes in short-sightedness, especially in younger adults. Some students may also experience dry eyes, eyelid irritation, or more frequent changes in their glasses prescription.
In this video, Ms Sancy Low explains why university can be an important time to keep an eye on your vision, particularly if you’re considering careers such as aviation or the military, where visual standards can be especially important.
At Battersea Hospital, our ophthalmology team can assess changes in vision, short sightedness, dry eye symptoms, and other eye concerns with a personalised approach.
If your eyesight has changed, your eyes feel uncomfortable, or you simply want reassurance, book an eye consultation with Ms Sancy Low and our specialist team.

Before and after results following abdominoplasty with liposuction, performed by Mr Metin Nizamoglu.

This transformation highlights the impact of a carefully planned surgical approach to abdominal contouring, addressing excess skin, improving the lower abdominal profile, and refining overall body shape and proportion.

Abdominoplasty with liposuction can be especially beneficial for patients who experience abdominal skin laxity, stubborn fat deposits, or changes in contour following weight fluctuation, pregnancy, or natural changes over time.

At Battersea Hospital, every surgical plan is tailored to the individual patient, with a focus on safety, precision, natural-looking results, and dedicated aftercare throughout the recovery journey.

Thank you to our patient for allowing us to share her results.

A ā€œnose jobā€ can mean more than changing how the nose looks.
In this video, Mr Annakan Navaratnam explains the difference between rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty, and why nasal function and breathing are just as important as appearance.
Ā
For some patients, a twisted nose, deviated septum, or structural weakness can affect airflow. In these cases, surgery can be planned to improve breathing while also refining the shape of the nose.
Ā
At Battersea Hospital, every rhinoplasty journey starts with a detailed assessment so we can consider both form and function, and create a treatment plan tailored to the individual.
Ā
If you’re considering rhinoplasty or septorhinoplasty for appearance, breathing, or both, book a consultation with our specialist team.

Yesterday, we welcomed a group of optometrists to Battersea Hospital for a hands on ophthalmology CPD event hosted by Mr Robbie Walker.
Ā
We started the evening in a relaxed way with some food, drinks and a bit of time for everyone to chat and get to know each other before the sessions began.
Ā
From there, Mr Robbie Walker took the group on a walkthrough of Battersea Hospital, showing them our consultation rooms, eye testing rooms and operating theatres. It gave everyone a chance to see the full ophthalmology environment and understand more about the patient journey from consultation through to treatment.

The highlight of the event was definitely the practical cataract surgery session.

It was a great way to bring the learning to life. It gave the optometrists a much clearer understanding of what their patients will actually experience when they go through surgery. It was easily one of the most enjoyable parts of the day, and the room had a real sense of curiosity and enthusiasm throughout.

We were also joined by Darshna Bharadwa from Johnson & Johnson, who gave a presentation on the premium lens options currently available and shared more about how different intraocular lenses can support different visual needs.

Later in the session, Mr Robbie took the group through a series of eye conditions and OCT scans. This led to some really useful discussion around what could be seen on the scans, how different conditions present and how those findings can shape the patient pathway.

What made the event work so well was the mix of learning, discussion and hands on experience. It gave everyone the chance to ask questions, share perspectives and see more of what goes on behind the scenes in ophthalmology at Battersea Hospital.

We really enjoyed having you all with us and look forward to welcoming more optometrists and eye care professionals to Battersea Hospital for future CPD and educational events.
