World Cup matches, a heatwave and a few drinks? ⚽☀️🍺
Many people will be making the most of the sunshine while watching the World Cup with friends and family. But if you're enjoying a few drinks, it's worth remembering that alcohol can stay in your system much longer than many people realise.
Combined with hot weather and later nights, drinking can increase your risk of dehydration, poor sleep and feeling worse the next day.
If you're watching the football this week:
💧 Alternate alcoholic drinks with water
🍽️ Eat before and during the match
😴 Get plenty of rest where possible
🚗 Don't assume you'll be fit to drive the next morning – only time clears alcohol from your system.
