First swim in the lake this year!

That first lake swim of the year always hits different, a little wild, a little shocking, a little “oh yes, I’m alive.”
It’s like your whole system wakes up at once.

It’s a mix of crisp water, quiet surroundings, watching the fish swim around you and that little glowing feeling you get afterwards because I actually did it.

That rush of breath and adrenaline that settles into calm once you’re in.

I get such clarity you only get from being surrounded by water and sky. 🌊(my happy place)

That first lake swim of the year is almost like reclaiming a part of yourself after winter.

Then the Huge relief when you then realise you still can fit into your wetsuit! 😂

Last night’s training 📚

I’m always committed to continuing my professional development to ensure I can offer the best possible support to the children, young people, and families I work with.

Last night, I completed “Navigating the NICU: Supporting Parents Through Crisis, Trauma, and Transition”, a 5-hour CPD training with The Foundation for Infant Loss Training.

This valuable training explored the emotional impact of neonatal intensive care experiences and how we can better support parents and families navigating uncertainty, trauma, grief, and transition.

Every piece of learning helps me deepen my understanding and strengthen the support I provide through Ground 2 Grow Therapy.

I’m now back from holiday after a wonderful week away and feeling refreshed and recharged.

I’m looking forward to welcoming my clients back for sessions this week and continuing to support them on their journey.

I’ve shared a few of my favourite photos from the trip, some special moments watching dolphins in the wild. 🐬✨ Taking time to slow down, connect with nature, and recharge is something I value deeply, and it’s been wonderful to return feeling renewed and ready for the week ahead.

If you’ve been thinking about starting counselling, I currently have some availability and would be happy to hear from you.

A lovely little gift from one of my young clients. A lil duck to watch over me while am working at my desk. Which got me thinking about how relatable ducks are….

Ducks may look calm as they glide across the water…
but beneath the surface, their little feet are working incredibly hard.

Sometimes people are like that too.

You may look like you’re coping on the outside while underneath you’re carrying stress, anxiety, overwhelm, grief, or exhaustion that nobody else can see.

At the same time, ducks remind us of something important:
🦆adaptability
🦆resilience
🦆moving forward even in difficult waters
🦆finding balance between rest and movement

You do not have to struggle beneath the surface alone.

Therapy can be a space where you no longer have to “keep gliding” while silently battling underneath.

At Ground 2 Grow Therapy, you are welcome exactly as you are. 💚💙

✨ Sometimes healing starts with simply being seen.

If you’d like to chat about whether therapy feels right, you’re welcome to message me.
