What is Knot in muscles – myths and facts
Working hard all day behind a desk and you feel that you have a big, hard knot in muscle in Your shoulders? It's painful when you move, it's blocking Your range of motion? Its causes Your shoulder uplift all the time? 🤔
What is it? It usually appears when we do our duties in an isometric contraction of a muscle. For example, Heir stylist has to keep her arms all the time in the air to cut hair or typing on computer in a lousy position forcing You to keep sleeves up and contract Your shoulders.
What happens next?
Contracted muscle has a big problem with blood flow. Our muscles are working like a sponge so when you squeeze it flushes all blood from it and absorbs blood when it's relaxing. When it's in an isometric contraction, there's no natural “pump” flashing waste materials from muscle. All metabolites (including lactic acid) stays in tissue and crystalise in fibres. That’s why you can feel “grains” in a muscle when its tide. Additional to that Your brain starts “getting used to” this position and “forgets” how to relax the muscle. So Muscle shortens in length and creates a knot – shortcut description.
What to do to treat muscle knot?
You need to recreate proper blood flow in muscle. One of the best things is to have a massage. During treatment, we use a different type of techniques: pressing, holding, stretching, “breaking” muscle to regain proper blood circulation and flash metabolites from the tissue. It's like a kick start for tired muscle. When We press tight muscle, Your brain getting signal that this particular muscle is tight and needs to relax. Next step is to “teach” Your mind to keep Your muscle relaxed by stretching him. Thanks to these simple techniques, You will eliminate knot from Your tissue. 😇
Why I get muscle knot in the same place over and over?🤔
