I've often heard mothers express disappointment when their birth experience didn't align with initial expectations. Let's remember, the essence of giving birth lies in the incredible journey your body undertakes. Whether it's a vaginal birth or a different path, your body's strength in carrying and bringing forth life is nothing short of amazing. While initial disappointment is valid, let's also celebrate the incredible feat your body has accomplished post-birth! 💪🏻💪🏼💪🏽💪🏾💪🏿

Also!! Be kind to yourself, be kind to your body. Don't rush the healing process whether it be physically OR mentally...or both! Healing WILL come ❤️ oh, and KEEP TALKING - don't try to do this on your own. 🫂

The Bishop score serves as a tool used by healthcare professionals for assessing the likelihood of impending labour. It helps in their decision-making process regarding the necessity of recommending induction and the potential success of a vaginal birth following induction.

You may never hear this term being used in the moment but it's important to know that this is what they're assessing when performing a VE (IF you opt for one!)

Let's talk about the sweep? 🫣

‼️It's essential to emphasize: The sweep is entirely optional, and you retain complete autonomy to make an informed choice regarding whether you wish to undergo it, informed by research.‼️

Personally, I don't see sweeps as a necessity. HOWEVER the more you know, the more in control you feel with decision making during your pregnancy. There's so much more information and statistics out there regarding sweeps.
