World Alzheimer's Month at RCH Care Homes: Celebrating Our D.O.V.E.S Graduates!

In continuation of our D.O.V.E.S spotlight, we are thrilled to recognize the outstanding dedication of our team members who have recently advanced their skills through the D.O.V.E.S program (Development through Observation, Validation, Enrichment, and Sharing of Knowledge).

Sarah Taylor, Lifestyle Lead at Woodlands Care Centre, who has added a new layer of expertise to her 15-year journey with RCH Care Homes, reflected on her training. Sarah shared, "The program has been an eye-opener, especially in understanding the perspectives of residents’ and their families. It’s not just a job—it’s a commitment to ensuring our residents live their best lives every day."
It’s inspiring to see our teams across RCH Care Homes, from Bedford to Cambridge, Kent to Essex, embracing new knowledge and passionately integrating it into daily practices. Their commitment creates a more enriching, supportive environment for residents living with dementia.

We’re proud to share that our incredible teams at Manton Heights Care Centre, Romford Care Home and Orchard House Care Home celebrated 999 Emergency Services Day in their local communities of Bedford, Romford, and Wisbech!
Residents and staff from Orchard House and Manton Heights visited their local emergency and non-emergency service teams, delivering thoughtful Hero Hampers filled with treats and handwritten notes from residents. While Romford Care Home celebrated by inviting Romford Fire Brigade for tea! It was a heartfelt way to show appreciation to those who tirelessly support us all.

The Bedford Ambulance Crew shared their gratitude: “Thank you, it makes a big difference to be appreciated in this way. It was lovely to get the hampers, especially the handwritten notes from the residents.”

Driven by the ideas and enthusiasm of our residents, this initiative was brought to life by our dedicated teams, and we couldn’t be prouder. These moments highlight the strong community spirit that thrives in each of our homes. Let’s continue to celebrate the everyday heroes in our communities!
