💙 Feel Good Friday from Sense Assist 💙

Working with children every day reminds me that progress doesn't always look the way we expect it to.

Sometimes it's a child walking into a session without feeling anxious.
Sometimes it's trying a new activity, asking for help, making a friend smile, or finding the words to express a feeling.

These moments may seem small, but they are often the biggest steps of all.

As parents and carers, it's easy to focus on what still needs support. I know how hard that can be. But today, I encourage you to pause and reflect on how far your child has come, not just how far they have left to go.

💙 Celebrate the effort.
💙 Celebrate the courage.
💙 Celebrate the little victories.

Every child develops at their own pace, and every step forward deserves recognition.

Wishing all our Sense Assist families a wonderful weekend filled with connection, laughter and plenty of reasons to smile.

Feel Good Friday

At Sense Assist this week we have been focusing on strategies to help children develop emotional regulation skills.

Through fun activities, discussions, and supportive interventions, children explored ways to:

✨ recognise their emotions
✨ use calming strategies
✨ talk about their feelings
✨ build confidence in managing big emotions

Some of the strategies we looked at included breathing exercises, emotion check-ins, calming spaces, sensory tools, and positive communication.

Helping children understand that all feelings are valid, while giving them the tools to manage them safely and positively, is such an important life skill .
