It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself around here... sooo hello! 👋
I’m Laura, founder of Rise & Glow Births, and here’s few random facts about me:
🧡I have three wonderful small children (5, 4, and 1), including a surprise 34-weeker who arrived rather dramatically and completely changed the trajectory of my career.
Before all this, I spent over 10 years working in engineering and project management and I never imagined I’d end up running a birth education business, but here we are!
🧡 I genuinely LOVE talking about birth. If you sit next to me at the pub and mention your birth story, I’ll be hanging on your every word
🧡I once said “I can’t wait to do that again!” immediately after giving birth. Which made the midwife burst out laughing.
🧡Most of my best business ideas have come to me while bouncing on a birth ball, rocking one of my babies to sleep, or while singing in the shower 😊
A bit about what I actually do...
I support pregnant families through in-person Hypnobirthing classes, both in groups and privately.
I also have online courses for families who prefer to learn in their own time (especially those who learn best in their pyjamas with a cup of tea ☕).
And this month, I launched our new Mum & Baby Circles - a space for new mums to connect, breathe, and discuss all the things nobody quite prepares you for after birth.
I now also train other women to become Hypnobirthing teachers themselves.
This part still feels a bit surreal.
There are now 7 qualified Rise & Glow teachers supporting families in their own communities, with another 9 currently in training.
What started with me teaching local classes in South East London has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. It turns out those years in project management have come in handy after all 😅
A few things that haven’t changed:
🧡I don’t believe there’s one “right” way to give birth.
🧡 I think birth partners deserve better preparation too.
🧡My classes are evidence-based, practical and surprisingly fun. We laugh a lot.
🧡I believe think women are far more powerful than we give ourselves credit for.
Thank you for being here!
Laura xx
