Apasen Featured in Prestigious Monarchy & Democracy: A History of Leadership Publication
Apasen is delighted to announce that our organisation has been featured in the prestigious Monarchy & Democracy: A History of Leadership, a landmark publication produced by the History of Parliament in partnership with St James's House. The publication celebrates organisations that have demonstrated excellence in leadership, governance, innovation and social impact, alongside exploring the development of democracy across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
Being featured in this publication is a significant achievement for Apasen. It reflects the organisation's longstanding commitment to supporting people with disabilities and additional needs, while recognising our contribution to creating more inclusive communities through high quality care and support services.
The feature tells the story of Apasen's journey from its beginnings in 1984, when a group of parents came together to address the lack of appropriate services for children with complex needs, to becoming one of London's leading health and social care providers. Today, Apasen supports children, young people and adults from diverse communities across several London boroughs, empowering them to live with dignity, independence and choice.
Representing Apasen at the official launch event held at Westminster Abbey were Mahmud Hasan MBE, Chief Executive, and Luqueman Hussain, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The prestigious event brought together over 500 guests, including parliamentarians, business leaders, academics, charitable organisations and members of the media to celebrate the publication's release.
The event also provided an excellent opportunity for Apasen to network with influential leaders and organisations from across the UK, strengthening relationships and exploring future opportunities for collaboration. It was a proud occasion to showcase Apasen's work on a national stage and highlight the positive impact the organisation continues to make in supporting people with disabilities.
Mahmud Hasan MBE, Chief Executive of Apasen, said:
"It is a tremendous honour for Apasen to be featured in this prestigious publication. This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, trustees, volunteers and the families we support, who work tirelessly every day to create opportunities for people with disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives. We are proud to see our journey recognised alongside organisations that are making a meaningful contribution to society."
Being featured in Monarchy & Democracy: A History of Leadership raises Apasen's profile among policymakers, community leaders, businesses and educational institutions across the UK and the Commonwealth. It reinforces our reputation as a trusted organisation committed to leadership, innovation and social impact while providing a valuable platform to share our story with a wider audience.
As we continue to grow and develop our services, this recognition inspires us to build on our achievements and remain committed to empowering people with disabilities to fulfil their potential and participate fully in their communities.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to Apasen's success over the past four decades. This achievement belongs to our staff, trustees, volunteers, supporters, partners and, above all, the people we support every day.
