Ted Lasso is back, this time coaching a women's football team, and the show has real medical grounding behind it. Arsenal and England captain Leah Williamson worked as an authenticity consultant on the new season, and one of its central new characters is a former player whose career ended after three ACL tears.
It is a storyline that reflects a genuine issue in women's football, where ACL injury rates and the risk of a second tear are significantly higher than in men.
