cilities include large dining rooms, lounges for relaxing and activities, a hair and beauty salon and an activity room. Outside the secure garden has raised flower beds and established trees, as well as a decked area, a patio and a range of seating areas. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy some time outside in the sunshine with loved ones.

A Taste of Home 🌍✨

What a beautiful afternoon we had last Thursday! Our Taste of Home event was truly a celebration of the wonderful cultures and memories that make up our Muriel Street community.

Our fantastic kitchen team, led by Chef Rodolfo, brought three incredible street food stands to life – inspired by the homes, stories and hearts of our residents. We travelled to the Philippines, Mexico, and the Caribbean, with Margaret's Kitchen (named after our very own Margaret from Barbados) serving up tastes of home that had everyone coming back for more.

The event wouldn't have been possible without the creativity and effort of our residents – who designed and created all the beautiful bunting and hand-painted signs for each food stand. Their artistry and hard work really set the scene.

But perhaps the most memorable moments were the music and the togetherness. Rosaleen's beautiful rendition of Fields of Athenry moved us all, and then Marco took to the stage with the wonderful backing vocals of Cordell Goodson, getting everyone singing and dancing.

This is what Muriel Street is all about – coming together, sharing food, sharing stories, and remembering the places and people we hold dear. The dancing, the singing, the laughter, the tastes of home... it was absolutely wonderful.

Thank you to Father Rajiv, who came to give Holy Communion and anoint the sick today at Muriel Street. We're grateful for his patience and attentiveness to our residents, especially cycling through the hot weather to visit us.

Today we were treated to a duet in the garden as the mighty Marco Magnani was joined by our very own Cordell Goodson on backing vocals.

On Monday, we had a lovely visit from the ScotsCare Choir, who spent the afternoon singing and entertaining us. They even learned some of our favourite songs, which made it extra special!

We had such a lovely time sitting together, listening, singing along, keeping cool in the shade, enjoying ice cream, and making new friends.

It was such a treat, and we can’t wait to have them back again. A big thank you to ScotsCare for such a wonderful afternoon.

A little peek into the wonderful performance by the ScotsCare choir in our garden on Monday!

Luckily it wasn't too hot and Pamela and the team rocked up to keep us entertained. They even learnt some of our favourite songs. What a joy to sing together surrounded by greenery.

It was a memorable and enjoyable afternoon all round and we can't wait to have them back again.

🎤✨ What a treat we had at Muriel Street! The wonderful Wendy, a fabulous jazz and reggae singer, came to perform for our residents in the garden — and what an afternoon it was! 🎶

Wendy filled the courtyard with old classics and even some original songs of her own, bringing culture, cherished memories, and pure joy to everyone who came along. You could feel the connection in the air as residents, families, and our team sang, swayed, and smiled together in the sunshine. ☀️💜

Music has such a beautiful way of touching the heart and stirring happy memories — and Wendy did exactly that. A truly special way to spend the afternoon, and one our residents won’t forget in a hurry!
