This Carers Rights Day, we're standing up for the UK’s 9 million carers, 700,000 of whom are caring for someone living with dementia.

Too many family and friend are exhausted, stressed and struggling to make ends meet, while determined to give their loved ones the quality of life they deserve.

With the Government soon to be publishing White Papers on social care reform which will lay the foundations for a social care bill, we must ensure our unsung heroes are supported every step of the way. With your help, we have an opportunity to influence these plans.

Training with our carers this morning

Often we see carers and care workers pushing themselves to the point of exhaustion. Dedication to clients or loved ones can make people put their own health and well being on the back burner.

Caring for someone, although rewarding, can be exhausting at times. Nobody should feel too proud to ask for help or admit that they need a break.

Most care agencies offer respite care so that you can be sure your loved ones are being well cared for while you take some time and return well rested.
