In our sessions with this young client, we are working on goals around sensory regulation, increasing self-esteem and confidence, and body awareness.

We had a great first session with our lovely new client, working on standing tolerance, mobility and upper body strength whilst playing games with Sam- putting together a dog puzzle, learning ‘middle’ position between legs, Sam fetching hoops thrown onto target game and tug of war.

A wonderful session in the sunshine with members from Inspire Day Centre. Lots of fun had playing games with the dogs in the park. Thank you as always to my brilliant volunteers- Maddie and Custard, and Mattias and Elvis.

We were delighted to deliver a special wellbeing session for staff at the The Royal College of Physicians as part of their Well-Being Fortnight 🐾

Staff took part in agility, puzzle and flexibility activities with Rio, Elvis and Louis — getting hands-on experience of some of the skills we use in Animal-Assisted Therapy. The dogs loved showing off what they can do, and the humans embraced the fun just as enthusiastically!

Sessions like these don’t just bring smiles — positive human-animal interaction helps boost oxytocin (the “happy hormone”), supporting relaxation, connection and overall wellbeing.

A wonderful day for both two-legged and four-legged participants 💛

We had a fun training day last week with six of our volunteer teams, many of whom are new recruits. Understanding which games and activities each dog enjoys is essential in helping me plan effective Animal-Assisted Therapy sessions for our clients. This knowledge allows me to carefully match the most suitable dog and handler team to each client’s individual and specific therapy goal. In AAT it’s important that the client, the dog, and the volunteer handler all enjoy and benefit from the sessions I facilitate. A huge thank you to Sallie Bollans from for helping me to run the session.

Dogs Do Therapy Christmas Bingo! We had great fun playing our very own DDT version of bingo with members at Inspire Day Centre. Rio and Custard knocked over a coloured cone which chose the bingo card to be pulled. Well done to all our winners!
