Songs & Smiles: Movie Magic ✨ 🎥

Today, Songs & Smiles took us to the big screen for a wonderful Movie Theme Week! Our little stars dressed up as their favourite film characters, with Moana, Tinker bell, Peppa Pig and Cinderella joining our residents for a blockbuster morning of smiles, laughter and singing sings from our favourite films songs, 😊

📚✨ Book Club at Link House!

This afternoon, our residents enjoyed a lovely reading session in the first-floor pub. Together, we explored a story, answered questions and shared our thoughts, with gentle background music adding to the relaxed atmosphere. 🎶

A wonderful opportunity to spark imagination, keep minds active and enjoy each other’s company. 💛

🍌🥭🍍 Blend, Sip and Shine! ❣️💪✨
What an incredible afternoon!!! Our residents enjoyed making two delicious smoothies together: mango and pineapple and banana and chocolate! We added yogurt and ice cream for an extra creamy treat, then topped our creations with whipped cream and sprinkles. 🍦🥤

There was music, singing, smiles and plenty of teamwork as everyone enjoyed the afternoon in their own way. What a lovely way to share something sweet together! 💛

🎶✨ ❣️A lovely morning singing with the Link Harmonies Choir! ✨🎶

We shared familiar songs, followed the rhythm and enjoyed making music together. There were smiles all around, and it was wonderful to see how a song can bring people together. 💛🎵

We are already looking forward to our next choir session! 🎤🌈

What a colourful morning in the lounge! 🌈 Our residents enjoyed singing and games with the visiting mothers and children. Together, they played percussion instruments and wooden rhythm sticks, explored colours and had fun with bubbles! 🪇🥁🎨🫧👶

Music, movement and plenty of smiles brought everyone together across generations. 👏😊💛

This afternoon, our residents went back to school! Everyone chose the items they would need and made their own school bag. A lovely way to share memories, make decisions and keep our minds active! 🧠💡🎶

This afternoon our residents enjoyed creating their own special school badges! ✂️🏅✨

The purpose of the activity was to stimulate creativity, decision-making, fine motor skills and social interaction. It was also a lovely opportunity for our residents to express their personalities through their chosen mottos. ❤️

🌍✨ AROUND THE WORLD WITH GEOGRAPHY! ✨🌎

This morning, our residents enjoyed a fun Geography Game about countries and their capitals! 🗺️📍

Everyone supported each other and we enjoyed learning together. 🧠💡👏

The purpose of this activity was to stimulate memory, encourage learning and concentration, support socialisation and give our residents an enjoyable sense of achievement. 🧠🤝💖🏆

💙💜✨ Community Connections Dementia Awareness Day at Link House !!!✨💙💜

What a truly wonderful and memorable day we shared at Link House! We were honoured to welcome The Worshipful the Mayor of Merton, Councillor Shule Syeda, to our special Community Connections Dementia Awareness Day.

We had so many wonderful activities going on..also our residents gave a beautiful performance of Puccini’s “O mio babbino caro” in honour of the Mayor, filling the room with music, emotion and joy. 🎶❤️🌟

A heartfelt thank you to the Mayor for joining us, to our Home Manager Zoe Smith for her wonderful contribution, and to everyone who helped make this meaningful community event such a success.

It was truly a beautiful celebration of connection, inclusion and the incredible abilities of people living with dementia. 💙💜🫶🏻
