Hope Valley, you beautiful little escape. 🏔️🐑
I came looking for something I’m still not entirely sure how to describe, and instead I got gloriously lost, walked until my legs complained, hiked, breathed, giggled, offloaded a few things I’d been carrying, and found pockets of peace I desperately needed…
I met loads of lovely people and approximately 47,000 sheep, cows, calves, bulls and rocks.
***The rocks were particularly good listeners.
I also discovered that I am, in fact, not as brave as I like to think I am.
There were several occasions where I confidently told myself - “You’re absolutely fine,” whilst internally having a full-scale emotional breakdown because I had no idea where the hell I was. 😂
Then came the solar eclipse…
And yes, I was absolutely that solar-eclipse wa**er.
🌑
I embraced every second of it.
Best place, best weather, and an experience I’ll probably never get again. So if I was going to be a nerd about it, I was going to do it properly.
Since returning from the Himalayas in April, life has thrown a few things at me from several different directions. Sometimes you just need to step away from the noise, put one foot in front of the other and let the mountains remind you that not everything needs an immediate answer.
I came back without finding everything I was looking for.
But I came back lighter.
And my soul feels a little fuller.
So maybe that was the point all along. 💜🌸
