Memories never go out of style they’re made to be worn! 👗✨
For The National Day of Arts in Care Homes 2026, our talented residents transformed their favorite life moments into a work of wearable art. Each resident wrote out their fondest memory on a sheet of paper, which was then thoughtfully crafted into a stunning paper skirt.
This piece truly embodies our theme, Stories That Connect Us , showing how our shared histories and personal stories weave together to create something beautiful. 📄❤️🎨

Travel from your armchair with Bagshot Gardens! ✈️

As a part of our ongoing Avery Moments initiative, the team at Bagshot Gardens Care Home - Avery Collection are transporting their residents to a chosen destination every month.

This August, they landed in South Africa! The residents indulged in both a tasty and traditional Braai, followed by an exciting drum performance and virtual safari around Kenya.

Chef Kerry was born in Cape Town and designed a delicious menu to share her culture with the residents, on top of South African snacks. This included meat marinated for 3 days, with all herbs and spices sourced from local South African shops for an authentic experience.

Armchair travel provides a lovely opportunity for many nationalities and cultures to be celebrated across teams and residents, with plenty of fun along the way!

On Friday, Avery Group Support Centre hosted its annual team-building day; residents and colleagues from Avery homes across Northampton also came along for a day of fun. ⭐

From giant football darts and welly wanging to putting everyone’s knowledge to the test in the quiz, there was something for everyone to get involved in. 🎯

☀️With the sunshine out, it was a lovely opportunity to spend time together, make memories and enjoy some friendly rivalry. And to round off the afternoon, Simon from Dukes Court kept the tunes coming with everyone’s favourite songs!

A big thank you to everyone who joined in and made it such a memorable day.

Bagshot Gardens Care Home - Avery Collection have been raising money for Phyllis Tuckwell with an Italian Summer! ☀️

Bagshot Gardens recently brought residents, families and friends together for its annual Summer Fun Day, with an Italian theme adding a taste of la dolce vita to the celebrations.

Residents were transported to 'Rome' with an Italian buffet lunch and an afternoon party including gelato, Aperol Spritz and Limoncello. An Italian tenor provided live music, creating a lively atmosphere and giving residents and their guests plenty of opportunities to relax, sing along and enjoy the sunshine.

The event was also an opportunity to support a cause close to the hearts of Bagshot Gardens residents. A raffle, including a prize hamper, and a tombola ran throughout the day, raising an impressive £360 for Phyllis Tuckwell, Hospice Care, the residents' chosen charity.

At Avery, wishes really do come true 💫

At Droitwich Mews Care Home - - Avery Healthcare, one recent wish brought a huge smile to Linda’s face and reminded us all of the joy that can come from a simple conversation.

On a recent outing to M&S, Linda spotted a distinctive classic car and commented that it looked like a Morgan. Curious, they asked Linda if she had ever been in a Morgan before and if she'd like to take a drive in one. Her eyes lit up immediately as she replied, “oh I would love that!”

Once they made their way back to the home, they carefully added Linda's wish to the wish tree. The well-being team were determined to make this wish come true so they reached out to the local community and were delighted when a friendly neighbour very kindly offered to take Linda for a drive in his Morgan.

The day finally arrived and Linda could hardly contain her excitement as she climbed into the beautiful car. She enjoyed a wonderful drive through the local countryside taking in the sights and sounds from the comfort of this iconic British sports car.

It was so nice to see the community come together to make Linda's wish a reality 💙

Congratulations to South Lodge Care Home - Avery Healthcare the winners of the Avery Regional Football Tournament trophy! 🏆 ⚽️

After a successful friendly match at South Lodge this July, Head Chef, Sunny Patel, decided to challenge other teams to a 5-a-side tournament this August.

The tournament took place at Leicester and Rutland County FA, with South Lodge, Hinckley House Care Home - Avery Healthcare, Lady Jane Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare, Acer Court Care Home – Avery Healthcare and Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare going head-to-head for the win.

The excitement of the day provided a brilliant opportunity for families, friends and residents to come together and support their teams, cheering loved ones on from the sidelines.

Our Senior Team Leader at Loxley Park, Jeanlou, is leading the way in resident communication, speaking English, Spanish, Mandarin and two dialects of her native country, the Philippines.

Jeanlou was born and raised in the Philippines and first came to England in 2018 after moving from Spain with her Sheffield-born husband Steve. She graduated from university with a degree in nursing and proceeded to work in hospitals with an American aid charity that helps rural communities in Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan and Indonesia, giving advice on healthcare and family planning.

Thanks to our incredible residents at Loxley Park, Jeanlou is now almost fluent in ‘Sheffieldish’ to go along with her ability to speak English, Spanish and Mandarin.

Birchwood Grange Care Home - Avery Healthcare Summer Fair was a fantastic celebration which brought the local community together ☀️

Residents, families, friends and members of the local community came together for a fantastic Summer Fair at Birchwood Grange, creating a day filled with laughter, entertainment, and community spirit.

The event featured live music, games, delicious refreshments and a variety of stalls, providing something for everyone to enjoy. Residents were delighted to spend quality time with their loved ones, while visitors of all ages joined in the celebrations and enjoyed the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

This year's Summer Fair also supported the Brain Tumour Charity, raising awareness and funds for an important cause. Guests generously purchased raffle tickets throughout the day for the chance to win a selection of beautifully prepared hampers and prizes. The raffle draw proved to be one of the highlights of the event, with winners delighted to receive their hampers and celebrate their good fortune!

At Avery, we do our best to make residents' wishes come true ⭐️

Our home, Scholars Mews, has implemented a Wish Tree. Residents simply write their wish on a star and stick it to the tree. Our team will then try their best to grant as many of these wishes as possible!

Most recently, one lovely resident named Richard had his wish come true. Richard is from Stratford-upon-Avon, and for over 60 years the big wheel has been built every summer. He often thought that he would love to take a ride up the wheel but, unfortunately, never got the chance.

Last week, our Well-being Co-ordinator Claire made Richard's dream come true with a trip up the big wheel! Richard loved seeing the town he grew up in from so high up and waving to everyone on the ground. It's moments like this that make us so proud of the communities we have built at Avery 💙

Well done to Cliftonville Care Home - Avery Healthcare!

The home has been supporting the Northampton Cathedral Food Bank, thanks to Senior Receptionist, Elaine Smith, who kickstarted this brilliant ongoing community donation initiative.

A big thank you to all residents, families and visitors who made donations to the reception donation hamper. Your generosity has resulted in seven hampers, full of essentials to help locals in need.

We couldn’t be prouder of our community 💙
